This video is full of stuff for both the recreational judoka and serious competitor! The ideas and concepts are well explained, they make sense! This is a masterclass in judo gripping.
Lefthanded throwing has the advantage of being less expected and usually the opponent is less experienced defending, BUT if you normally attack right handed, you'll be less effective on that side. The general advice I've gotten is stick to your primary side (handedness), but have 1 or 2 throws you can do on your offside.
The cross grip attacks we drilled relentlessly , as all the other drills he developed. His ground game is world class to any grappler out there. Training with him is an experience that words can’t describe. I was fortunate to have a lot of great years during his Olympic run & after.
Bronze metal competitor in the olympics and coach to a gold medalist. I’d say I can take his advice on this even if he didn’t get a gold like your guy.
If you compare everyone to everyone then noones going to look good lmao. There will always be people who are "better". Don't discount this guys achievements just because of that

Hello from Butte, Montana. Thanks Jimmy 👍
Given these scenarios, should I attack with left-sided throws if I normally attack right-handed?

Compared to Kosei Inoue he looks like an amateur.
