This video is very helpful. My washer got the same error code F3E2 and I followed the video step by step, the root cause is exactly the same as described in the video. The issue was fixed with no cost. it saved both money and time for me. Thank you very much, Scott!
Thank you thank you , Scott. I was told by a repair person, after charging me $60 just to show up. He turned the drum , and said " sorry, you need a new washer". So I thought if he says it's done, I might as well take it apart, and see if there was anything I could do. First of all, the drain filter had like $14 in change and some other crap. Anyhow after hours of looking for anything wrong. I finally found your video. It was both wires. Runs great so far. Again . Thanks
Thank you so much for making this video! I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my washer, then I decided to try this solution and it turns out my plug came loose! I just plugged it back in and my problem was fixed! Your other video on how to manually unlock the washer door when it's stuck in the lock position really helped too! Thank you so so much!
performed the repair on this now 10+ year old machine that was holding my wash hostage. lo and behold, it had been already performed by the previous owner and the crimped wire came undone. hopefully my amateur botch job lasts longer. thank you
Ran down to Harbor Freight, brought a stripper, crimper, with connections kit for under $7. The black wire was broken in the same area. Followed your directions, problem solved. Thanks!
You just saved me so much money thank you so much. The wire was broken and I fixed it and it runs like new now. I liked your video because like I said you saved me money.
Hi Scott! Have the same issue, didn't find any issue with the wires, replaced sensor no luck still E2F3, and door is locked, was yours locked as well? Any help would be much appreciated.
I have this exact error on a machine of about 8 years age, exactly as you describe. I am going to give this a try and will update you once I open it up!
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Just a follow up, that was exactly what it was, one of the wires was held together just by the insulation right at the wire tie attached to the outside frame as opposed to where it was attached to the tub. It seems consistent with metal fatigue from being rigidly attached at each end with the tub and frame moving relative to each other just like you said. Seems like a slight design improvement by Whirlpool could prevent this. Thank you for the video it enabled me to do a quick and virtually painless repair. Working fine now.
Wow found the broken wire I’m just amazed that it happened to almost everyone in the comments great video thank you Ps. Stripping wire and crimping the connector was not easy it took me some practice. You made it look very easy 😅
Thanks a million. I removed the front panel cleaned the filter at the same time. stuck my hand from the front and traced the wire from the temp sensor back and exactly at the first tie wrap one wire was cut of and loose, managed to strip both ends and twisted the wires together then added a wire nut and voila. works like a charm. Thanks again. This is on a wfw9150. The hard part was that I did not know that the light blinking with the beep was actually an error code since that model does not have an LED display. Also when this happened the machine stopped with the clothes stuck in it and had to research how to manually release the latch and open the door. Million thanks again.

Wow, Scott! Thanks a million Sir! I was able to find this video and solve my problem! We have put up with that same error code and symptoms intermittently, until the washer quit due to broken wire. I found it completely severed. As I type this message of thanks the washer is running now. Thanks again!
Thanks for this video. I followed the instructions for a Maytag 2000 series(same as Whirlpool) and inspected the wires. Turns out that the wires were in tact, so I replaced the sensor. Important to note that I still got the F3, E2 error messages when I reconnected. So, I took the sensor out and allowed all of the water to drain and then reconnected the sensor. After I did that, it worked perfectly.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I just had the f3 e2 error on the same maytag 2000 series. Luckily for me when I took a look at the wires the only thing wrong was the plug popped out. Put it back in and now my wife thinks I'm a super hero....lol. thanks again. Repair was estimated at almost $500.
Thank you very much. Wires were broken inside the insulation, not visible at all. I first located spot 60 cm from connector that did not have connection through multimeter, then, going by half in between, located one piece of about 5 cm with no connection. I cut it out and use splice to bridge it.
Thanks! This black wire was exactly what was broken on mine when I had the 3 and 2 flashes... one butt connector later and machine is back in business.
Thank you thank you thank you!! I've never done anything like that before let alone strip a wire. You explained it so easily and made me feel like a damn electrician. Thank you!
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thanks for the quick response, but I was actually asking if I could used spade connectors since the connections are different?
Pulled mine apart and immediately started cussing when I couldn't find the break. Then I gave it one last check dragging it through while using my fingernail and found the break, The insulation looked perfect until my fingernail dug into the break. Just question whether that was the only break or not. Testing now.

Well Sir, Thank you very much. Mine was not broken, but it disconnected somehow. Either way, that was the problem. Amazing. This will save people alot of $ and alot of bickering from the woman, lol. Thanks again.

mine was holding my wash hostage. door would not unlock. i figured performing the temp sensor repair would just release the lock and it did. yey

How about the f1 error
Looks like a straightforward fix. But the video motion made me nauseous.
