  • Hydretain is very different than anything else on the market. See in this video the material absorbing humidity right out of the air. It does the same thing in the root zone, sequestering moisture near the roots before it is lost to evaporation.

    Liquid Hydretain has a surfactant in it as well according to the label. I just sprayed it today, and the surfactant made the existing water droplets wet the whole blade. It was pretty cool to see.

    I struggled with fungus in my tall fescue last summer. Don’t want to blame it on hydretain, but I’ll try to ride out this season without it.

      Remember the 150 rule. Combined the air temperature with the humidity and if it’s greater than 150, your fungus will thrive.

    The only time I’ve ever used this stuff is only time I’ve ever had a horrible fungus problem. I put it down on one part of my yard and not the other to just see what happens. And within 3 weeks that part had a horrible fungus outbreak and killed it all. I learned my lesson on all this so called magical liquid crap. What does your lawn and wallet have in common. They both stay greener when you stick to the basics 😂

      I get what you're saying. My question is, are you 100% certain this product caused it or was there a preexisting problem that already existed

    • @kickingrassdiy3432
      @kickingrassdiy3432 2 месяца назад +1

      I know there’s a chance that there was something else going on but it only happened to the part that I sprayed. Knock on wood never has it happened again and I don’t use that stuff anymore either. So I do believe it was the root cause of the problem. I’m sure this stuff has a place but not in my yard.

    Great video as always, especially the experiment. Assuming that an individual can water-in immediately after either way, would you recommend the Hydretain liquid or granular? I used the liquid for the first time last week and I like the results, but the granular does seem cheaper. Wondering if there is a difference in the results.

    In Oklahoma fescue doesn’t stand a chance 100 degree heat. I have Bermuda in front and fescue in back. For years I had to spend so much time and water trying just to get fescue to fall. I tried your hydrate products and don’t really see it working. For me I can’t justify using it. But love all your other products.

    The question I have is this: What happens AFTER the active ingredient converts to water? Seems like it's a fairly quick reaction. If one application is good for over 30+ days, how long does the active ingredient REALLY last

    • @yardmastery
      @yardmastery  2 месяца назад +1

      One app is good for 90 days and the product converts back to it's original form if the soil dries out 100%. So it's able to go back and forth to hold water for 3 months.

    • @yardmastery
      @yardmastery  2 месяца назад +1

      because it needs to get into the root zone. If you don't water it in it will stay on top of the lawn or get stuck in thatch where it will do no good.

Save your money and put it towards watering or food for yourself. You will be better off.
