Hi! If you are looking for clubs Shangri-la is far BUT there are some hotel bars to choose near the resort. Not so crowded but nice ambiance. Hope you enjoy your stay!
Hi, actually they will ask for your time of arrival because they provide a free shuttle from pier to resort and vice versa. After the registration at the pier the driver will be waiting for you outside the exit door with your name. Driver will bring you to resort even if its before checkin time. We arrived in Bantayan around 11am. Had lunch at their restaurant and went to our rooms after. So convenient.
2:00 omg.. what terrible view.. I guess thats why they have extra 2k peso extra for a sea view for a better view Edit: 3:20 you said you feel you are only 1's there but shangri-la couldnt give you an upgrade?
Hi Peter! In my opinion the view in our room (Not sea view) was fine. It was covered with tree tops and it was green. The sea view though is definitely breathtaking. Also, regarding the upgrade, during that time, the hotel housed all their employees to avoid possible exposure to COVID-19 outside of work. So actually one wing of the hotel was full (Employees who are not allowed to wander around the resort if they are not on Duty). The staff claims that they were 10% occupancy at that time. Upgrades would have been great but we don't mind. We hang out in the beach or pool the whole day anyway.

It is understandable considering most of their staff is laid off due to the low occupancy rate. We don't expect to spend much time in our room anyway. We love the beach in Shangr-la Mactan.
