Giving a Forest Back Its Voice... Making Riparian Chimes

Hi, my name is Cory and I'm an artist inspired by ecology and the natural world around us. This video shows the start to finish process of creating my sculpture, Riparian Echoes. This entire project was inspired by the thought of giving a voice back to a local forest that is masked by noise pollution. This particular Riparian forest is riddled with graffiti, chain link fences, a highway, a railway, an industrial factory, and construction all around the perimeter. The human footprint is a big one, but it's the extreme human interaction here that set a light bulb off. In order to give a voice back to the forest, I decided to create a sculpture of chimes foraged from the forest floor.
