      As someone who, and I’m assuming here by skin color, is closer to Asian than they are English, I’d expect a little more respect towards languages, culture and identity. Chinese isn’t it a language, Cantonese and Mandarine are; China is a country. But hey, all you Sri Lankan’s look like Indians to the rest of the world.

    Hello and thank you for the nice video. I have 2 questions please:
    1- when you get a notification when the sensor alarms, do you get the customized name of the sensor or just its type. For example i changed the PIR sensor name to PIR Living room. Will i get this name in the app notification when the sensor alarm?
    2- How can i disable the sensors when i am in the house so i don't get notifications?
    Thank you

      Most (if not all) of the sensors here use Zigbee. Zigbee is different, but same category of, wireless networking as Wifi or Bluetooth. Because Zigbee is not directly compatible with Wifi (or wired Ethernet), you need an adapter to "bridge" Zigbee devices into traditional networks so you can connect to them.

    I have watched the video to see how to make the hub visible to Alexa. Too bad that's the only point the video did not cover - at all. In my case there is no way how I get the hub detected by Alexa, and I think I have tried really everything. So, how did you do it? How does the hub show up in Alexa, and what are the device options you can see and/or change from Alexa?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  4 года назад

      No the hub is not visible in Alexa as it's just a gateway for the items and does nothing more.

    • @frofa2954
      @frofa2954 4 года назад

      @@GeekStreet That's funny, because Alexa offers the possibility to add hubs, too (Philips hue, Ikea, Osram, Harmony and others), but just doesn't see the Tuya Zigbee hub. I could live with that, but the bigger problem is that also the connected sensors and stuff doesn't show in Alexa - while Tuya WiFi stuff is shown and works in Alexa as expected. Any idea what to do?

    • @frofa2954

      Yes, in principle that is what I would want to do, eg use Zigbee sensors connected to the hub to trigger Alexa routines that then can control some other (non-Tuya) device.
