The breaks in this were loud, but underwhelming for being such a big bore. I expected more symmetrical breaks.

Whoever sold you that cake is not so smart for not teaching you how to correctly shoot a compound cake. All the connecting fuses need to be tucked in on the side so they don’t get blown off
I won't blame the seller, I'll blame myself for not being smart enough to think of that.

I appreciate the demo but please be safe first then figure out the cake issues. You were lucky to follow the golden rule of not putting any part of your body over the cake. Tape your connections and tuck them down the side of the cake.
Yep I had issues with compounds then started taping em to the side and no problems since

I notice some of these compound cakes are horrible always a problem

It was alright, not worth it, and I think there are better options at this price range and shot count. The willows were huge and all the breaks were really loud. Always down to meet up with other Colorado Pyros!

You need to tuck the connectors out of the way of an open bore. You basically blew it apart with the last shot of the first cake.
Yeah, pretty sure that's what happened. I'll try something different next time to avoid that.
Sometimes that quick match fuse isnt touching enough with those plastic connectors..you can put a small piece of visco in there and connect...or just got the connectors off completely and splice it yourself.
There are definitely a couple different things I can do to ensure ignition. Appreciate the tips!

Nice cake still u jus gotta add a quarter piece of quick or instant fuse in-between the connectors and click it if it doesn't click u can tape it and it will roll rite thru 👍🥇. Some compounds roll strtae thru and others do exactly wat urs did but adding that piece of fuse fixes it

Hey im a local pyro to the 303 area as well, i was wondering if you are willing to share info on how you source a lot of these fireworks? Starting to get into the level of spending a few grand on fireworks a year and feel as if Wyoming isn’t the best choice for people who are trying to spend a pretty penny. If you could tell me any info on any other spots it would be greatly appreciated! Also love the vids!
Join forums and reddit channels. Be friendly and the right people will be there. Just gotta be friendly and not hound people for a plug and they will show themselves.

I do not sell, just buy for personal use and demos.
do not trust the connectors with the compound cakes. it's better to cut off the plastic connectors and link them to quick match to quick match and tape together

This is why this stuff is illegal in so many places. There was nothing wrong with the connections, you just have no idea what you are doing. You need to fold the connections on the side of the cake and not over the bores. To make it even better you tried lighting quick match with your fingers right in the way of the tubes. 🤦🏼♂️ someone was watching over you cause it literally lit right when you changed sides to light another quick match!! Definitely need to take the 1.4pro course before you buy any more product.
I have taken the 1.4 pro course, there were definitely some things I did unsafely and I'll own that. Hopefully this video helps teach others what not to do.
