Thanks for the review! I watched Tim Nickels' recent video with Thomas Nelson. More translations are coming for the Open Bible if someone prefers a different translation than the NKJV.
I really like the Open Bible. I would put it second only to the Thompson Chain Reference Bible. I do hope Thomas Nelson produces a large print edition. I'm glad they went with end of verse references.
I don’t know if I am super excited or deeply disappointed. This is not a 50th edition. My 1975-1980 era Open Bibles look much different. First I could get KJV or NASB versions, could get NICE leather covers, could get it in a smaller footprint. The visuals are reminiscent of the 1990’s version (which I have in hardback) but nothing to me beats the original I got over 40 years ago. THAT is what they need to bring back. I still might get one of these. But the bulk makes it impractical as an all around Bible. 8 x 5 was the perfect size to make the Open Bible an everyday and everywhere, every occasion Bible. I have often thought that if the publishers would have printed a stand-alone cyclopedic index as found in the earlier Open Bibles, it would improve Bible Study for any Bible used.
Oh who I am I kidding? I will end up getting one of these. I am one of the biggest Open Bibles fans and love all the information in them. The cyclopedic/topical index is one of the most effective Bible study tools ever produced.

Some folks think the Open Bible is a study bible but it is not. The Thomas Nelson Publisher's website labels it as the 'Ultimate Reference Bible'.

If only they'd made the red letter blue letter instead... Why on earth didn't they? 🤔
@@richardfairley9882 I would have liked that too!
