When driving I play the what if game. Of course that means maintaining a proper speed and following distance so you can have time to react to any of the 'what if' scenarios.
As we know, it's not a matter of "if" another road user is going to do something goofy, but "when." And as you said @SolarWrath, by maintaining space, it gives us time, and time give us options, and options prevent crashes. All the very best, Cheers Rick
