I was delighted when the kind people at the Inland Revenue wrote to me recently, telling me that my tax return was 'outstanding', particularly as I can't even remember sending it in.
Hi , this is the second year I've come here to do the tax return, so I guess I'm a repeat customer! I have a question: where does Universal Credit come in on this? At 4:17 it asks if you received any pensions or state benefits - does Universal Credit come under this?
very usefull vid thankyou, , , , i did 12 weeks cis work with tax deducted by the payroll company, i hope i wont get in trouble for not filling one of these forms in 🤔
Thanks this was very clear. So just to confirm, I'm not expected to upload pdfs of my bank statements or declare my bank balance? I just fill it all out and if they want more information they contact me?
Exactly. They just want to know income and expenses. If there were any problems then they would contact you. If you have a tax liability don’t forget to pay. (payment methods can be found with a quick google search)
@@trader_uk1446 thanks. I'll keep my eyes open. I know plenty of one BTL landlords with a main job who are quite desperate for more information on this subject. Reason being pensions aren't performing enough and people in their 50s are becoming accidental landlords. I'll subscribe cheers

Wow. I can’t believe how easy this is, thank you! Now I’m hoping I don’t get absolutely shafted on my tax bill 😂
I was confused about few of this question and you made it clear for me. Thanks 🙏
One of the more useful videos on the web. Thanks mate!
Glad you think so!
This is 4 years old is it still relevant in 2025? Have to sort mine out.
I was delighted when the kind people at the Inland Revenue wrote to me recently, telling me that my tax return was 'outstanding', particularly as I can't even remember sending it in.
Do they never ask for proof or your earnings like bank statements
Which step do you input the total figure for money you've spent on equipment, software etc. for the business?
Thank goodness for your video otherwise I would not have a clue on how to do my tax return 😊
Hi , this is the second year I've come here to do the tax return, so I guess I'm a repeat customer!
I have a question: where does Universal Credit come in on this? At 4:17 it asks if you received any pensions or state benefits - does Universal Credit come under this?
Universal credit isn't a taxable benefit so doesn't need to be declared on a self assessment. Thanks for watching!
Many Thanks for help us. I had 2 grants. Where I need to put in my tax return. I am self employed
very usefull vid thankyou, , , , i did 12 weeks cis work with tax deducted by the payroll company, i hope i wont get in trouble for not filling one of these forms in 🤔
Didnt understand the part where it looks like you pay an advancement for the following year that hasnt been filed yet?
This is a great help, done mine and was worried about submitting. Watched this, tweaked a few things, job done 😁✅👍
Fantastic!
8:00 are there any apps or easy ways to document income and expenses?
Brilliant video, I am curious how you work out your expenses though? Things like fuel? Do you have another video explaining this?
Excellent video I'll be looking at your videos to see if there's one about buy to let property owners who also have main job.
Thanks Kevin, I've got a few more videos coming out on tax, one of them will be rental income. Probably within the next 2 weeks
@@trader_uk1446 thanks. I'll keep my eyes open. I know plenty of one BTL landlords with a main job who are quite desperate for more information on this subject. Reason being pensions aren't performing enough and people in their 50s are becoming accidental landlords. I'll subscribe cheers
Hi. Thanks for the brilliant video.1) I work as a freelancer from home for some foreign languages agencies via telephone and laptop using the WIFI of the main building. I earn by the minutes I work. Can I deduct some of the costs of my studio flat which coincides with my work place? My rent is all inclusive and there is not a breakdown of costs (rent, electricity, internet, council tax, etc). Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the videos they have helped allot, could you please help with which section would I file for crypto income tax ie staking rewards? would it be under the dividends section? any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
