    I knew nothing about completing self assessment. This video is amazing and takes the “fear” out of it and goes through the form page by page. I totally commend the information and the way the presenter has explained it in a marvellously simple way.

      Unfortunately he does not explain one thing, if you are self-employed but has no company name but work through an agency as a , contactor you will pay 20 per cent so how do you declare that self-employment or employed by some one else but employed by some one else I am still working as self-employed so what to fill in???

    Hi, brill Video. 1 question. I have recorded loss sum from 22/23 that is still just higher than my net profit by 4K due to starting the business. How does my personal allowance of £12,570 apply as I believe they only allow you to allocate an amount up to your net profit.
    Will the 4 k unallocated loss from 22/23 roll on to 24/25?

    Great video, thank you very much! I have the following questions
    Investment interest as income:
    If it is invested only but no gain realised on them (still on the investment account and did not touch since) do I need to indicate that?
    The money invested in stocks, futures, etc.. I see gain and loss on them but everything stays on the investment account, nothing realised yet.
    Investment as expense:
    if I invested money in the 22-23 period is it count as an expense?
    (Eg: unit linked insurance (for pension saving purposes), or property fund saving for long term (to buy a property in 10-20 years later)
    Or the bank`s invetment account where I can buy stocks.
    Cash back on black friday offers. Is it taxable?
    Refunds from shopping (damaged item, or discount)
    refunds from post office lost my parcels what I sold online and I claimed the insurance for loss
    Import/export online buy and sales
    Do I enter these as normal expenses right? Or is there any additional work with these invoices?
    (Eg: claim back custom fees, or any tax related to import/export)

    Are selfemployed people eliglble for a tax refund by HMRC? I see you can take your losses into the next tax year but what if you dont want to do that necessarily? I'm at a loss this year and would love to file for a tax refund but I dont know if I can if I input my losses into the "carry total losses forward" field? if I could get your 2 cent if you dont mind. I would appreciate it.

    Hi there, thanks for the video! This might be a very dumb question, but I work for two agencies and they were listed in the employment section, rightfully so, but I also work freelance and did a couple gigs by myself. My question is: In the turnover, do I put what I earned as a freelancer + what I also earned with the agencies, or just what I earned as a freelancer? Thanks!

  • @cuteopiax1259
    @cuteopiax1259 Год назад +3

    I'm an employee and not self-employed yet, but thinking about a side-hussle starting next year. The tax hurdle is a massive one and I find it quite confusing. My main questions now are - When selling on Ebay, is the turnover amount the amount after Ebay has deducted fees, or is the Ebay fee counted as an expense? (The latter of these 2 options makes it more complicated and time-consuming). Also, how do I seperate out reselling and selling my own stuff regarding taxable income? Do I just not declare all sales of my own stuff? Thirdly, is an Excel spreadsheet good enough for doing my own accounts? And lastly, if I find an accountant because this is all too confusing, what information do I give them and in what format? That's a lot of questions, I have loads more though.

    • @tax2ulimited
      @tax2ulimited  Год назад

      Hi it is always a good idea to start a side-hussle to help with some additional income so congratualtion.
      Turnover is all the sales you will make on Ebay, meaning how much money entered in your bank account from those sales. When you first start as Self Employed it may be confusing, you will need to be orginised with your sales and expenses, keeping track of figures on a excel is a good starting point, though you will also need ot keep backup of all invoices and expense receipts. If you need help to submit your Tax Return before the 31 Jan deadline, please send us an email with your personal details at info@tax2u.co.uk and one of our team members will get back to you

    if you start your employment in April do you have to declare it? Or it will be calculated the moment you get payment and will be included in the next year?
