I didn't know there were that many either. I have 24 but most are old VCR recordings from TV. Not very good quality but better than nothing. Am happy to find them online now. I don't like the TV series as much.

There may yet be hope for examples being found, since there was a Betty Boop episode found in Russia in 2019 which then got restored, after it hadn't been seen for about 80 years. But so far, we have 40 in the original run. Though there are a few other movies after that, which I haven't seen. The 1931 - 1937 movies all have Warner Oland in them as Charlie Chan. Among these are the lost films. The 1938 - 1946 movies all have Sidney Toler as Charlie Chan. The 1947 - 1949 episode have Roland Winters, who seemed OK as Charlie Chan, but not in the first time he played the role. Besides, the 6 that he was in were all low budget Monogram Pictures movies. I can't expect a whole lot. There's also one or two Mr. Moto films that were originally meant to be Charlie Chan films, and one Charlie Chan movie that was originally a Mr. Moto film: Mr. Moto's Gamble - Originally meant to be shot in January 1938 as a Charlie Chan film. Mr. Moto in Danger Island - I'm not sure of this one. Charlie Chan in Panama - I'm not sure which Mr. Moto film this one would have been, but I did listen to a documentary (included on disc) that it originally was meant to be a Mr. Moto film. Mr. Moto was portrayed by Peter Lorre.

I later complained to a man on the ground and said that the seats were cramped. He replied that "Oh, the seats aren't cramped. That's the new style." Just wait until the next generation of airliners comes out and carries 500 passengers in the space we ride in today. 💣

I used to think it was of a lack of knowledge about aspect ratio, or conditioning from using tiny screens and i it could be that. But now I think it is the default settings in the software, coupled with a lack of understanding about formats or possibly using an app that has a free version with limited options. Anyway, it is a shame.

The videos that I do make are in that native format of the camera sensor, usually 16:9 but sometimes 1:1. You might not like them as they are made at either very low framerates or a high frame rates and in both cases heavily processed in software to get a single image from dozens or even thousands of frames.

You beat me to it Sneha as I wholeheartedly agree with you! I do not mind the other son played by Benson Fong as I can tolerate him, but the son played by Sen Yung is overbearing! Now whether that is down to the actor himself or whether it is more to do with the script, we shall never know, but suffice to say, although I truly enjoy watching the Charlie Chan series, I despair when I see Sen Yung's name in the opening credits.
Jimmy Chan always reminds me of a wonderful cat I adopted from the Ottawa humane society. Despite, Cassidy's small size he had absolutely no fear when it came to fighting! He would just jump into the middle of any fray! 😊

You beat me to it Sneha as I wholeheartedly agree with you! I do not mind the other son played by Benson Fong as I can tolerate him, but the son played by Sen Yung is overbearing! Now whether that is down to the actor himself or whether it is more to do with the script, we shall never know, but suffice to say, although I truly enjoy watching the Charlie Chan series, I despair when I see Sen Yung's name in the opening credits.

Charlie Chan is constantly underestimated as a Chinese but outwits his white counterparts where he is grudgingly affirmed as "wily".
