And when it comes to matters of worship and music, the typical Adventist answers are very weak, and as a result there is a lot of division. Many of us cannot do worship which is based on men's traditions rather than the Word of God, but sadly it's those who are following 'tradition' who tend to be critical of those who are using the Word of God. And this is why I actually made my point above, where I found it quite confusing to follow what you are saying when you suggest you follow "thus saith the Lord"; it seems a bit odd to be saying "prayerfully study", when the premise of your point is that when someone does study for themselves and able to put forward something cogent, they are somehow trying to over intellectualise the Word of God and are more about their own knowledge than thus saith the Lord. The person who came to you with texts used just that, a "thus saith the Lord", but you concluded it was out of context. I simply asked you why you thought they were out of context? I ask that question in humility and seriousness, because we are here to help each other on this journey. It's very fair to ask you to explain something you said yourself. There must have been a reason you came to that conclusion, but I feel I am being criticised for actually asking for clarity? If you can't explain what you said, and why you said it, I cannot be expected to understand your point. For example, if the Bible says "Praise the Lord with the dance", you say that is "out of context". But you then ask me to prayerfully study Mt Carmel, which I assume you believe is 'in context'. Why would I take one verse literally, but the other is 'out of context'. What criteria do you use for what is context and not? It's not an unfair question. It's not a trick question. People across the world who are trying to make sense of faith are asking that question. Are we as Christians going to simply tell them to be quiet and go away? Or do we actually have something to offer?

Thank you for addressing this topic so well. As a singer, I am uncomfortable with clapping in response to my presenting a song in a worship setting because I feel it draws attention to me as an individual rather than to the glory of God. However, I do disagree with your comment against the ordination of women (and I have studied the topic from a biblical standpoint) and would humbly suggest that it might be best left out of a presentation such as this when time is not taken to develop the subject to explain your views more fully. It may serve to divert attention from the important subject you are actually addressing.

Context brother, this was not done in a worship service or in the sanctuary. You are making doctrine based on one verse. 47 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. 2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. 3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. 8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted. Psalm 47 is basically is saying that God is our Victory and Subdues all nations. The people were joyful when God won the battle for them. No sign of it being in a church. Stop confusing the people.
@@KJG-KJV Jeremiah 17:9 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Proverbs 28:26 - He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 3 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Nice Opinions, but again. Not biblical. You can not trust your feelings. As a bible based Christian we are not moved by what we think is right. Our rule of living is from the scriptures. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: It doesn't matter what we may feel or believe is correct. You have to understand, God does not come down to our standards when it comes to worship in the Sanctuary .Like in all things we have to do it Gods way. Not our way. 1 Corinthians 14:40 “Let all things be done decently and in order.” You can do what ever you want my brother, or sister. Those verses are not in a church setting. Context. This is the reason for the sermon Bohr gave. You don't make a doctrine based off of one verse. You can't assume what God wants, let the bible tell you what our Savior wants. The bible says Isaiah 28:10-13 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. You are not not following the Word on how to get an answer to this question. This is why the scripture also says. Isaiah 8:20 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. One more thing I never said Clapping is bad. You can clap for Jesus all you want till he comes for us. But in the sanctuary or temple setting there is no example that he gives us to worship him in that fashion. He never asks us to get that which the world uses so that we can glorify Him. Stop looking at the world for examples and look at the scripture to find what he wants. Not what we want. 1 John 2:15-17 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. God bless and good night
@@KJG-KJV Still no Bible verses, just assumptions, and accusations. I see you don't want reason. I shall leave you to your own opinions. Joshua 24:15 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Thanks Pastor Bohr on this. I have followed you for a while now and have been blessed by your sermons and expositions. You're one of my favorite speakers. But i have a few reservations on this in particular. I saw how you skipped even reading Psalm 47:1 which supports clapping. If it does not, who then are doing the clapping according to the verse? Secondly i noticed some of the verses you quoted on how we are to respond are not so clear whether they were in the context of a worship service to God or not. Then 2 Samuel 6, clearly showed that David and the people of Israel shouted, sang, and even DANced before the lord. But in all these, whats more important, our hearts of praise or is it our clap of hands? The bottom line here is we need moderation during our worship services.
He's wrong, clapping in praise songs is definitely mentioned in the verse below. Psalm 47:1 ESV / 42 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
SOP SAYS JESUS DOES NOT CONDONE CLAPPING. HE SAID IT GLORIFIES THE FLESH. SOP SAYS Jesus ACCEPTS ONLY AN Amen. Because when we say amen, we glorify God, but clapping raises up pride in people. Clapping is what the carnal people like to do.
Next up!!! Breathing is bad!!!. Everything is bad in this church. How can you say we are not to be like trees. The bible says, that we should be like the Palm Trees 🌴 Psalms 92:12. Don't you see the trees glorifying the Lord in how they flap their leaves back and forth. Its a reminder of the holy spirit moving amongst them. Wind reminds me of the Holy Spirit. This is why the churches service is dead. No happiness in the service. They don't allow certain instruments in the churches. Which is crazy because when God will come down the cloud and the angels will sound the trumpets. I think God is new and beautiful each day and season. He calls us to to sing-Psalms 96. Also, ya say music is bad. How is that possible when God is going to SING to us when we go to heaven- John 13:25.
He really just freed us by scripture to Glorify God with the glory he deserves. After listening to this breathing just became easier. Remembering what is Holy and what is common. I have always been blessed by this great pastor. He has freed me from many a hang up or chip I have had on my shoulder to worship Our Glourious God in the manner he deserves to be worshiped. I think everyone will be surprised in heaven how our everyday life and Sabbath will be. But the Sabbath will be done his way not how I perseve it should be or anyone else persevies it to be. What a glorious time we are going to have. Awe and reverence await us we have never known before. Happy Sabbath and inner peace to you my friend. I look forward to the first Sabbath in all its joy.
@@ChipsDip142 EXACTLY.!!! THANK YOU!!!! The trees 🌳 do that. You can see how happy they are when they clap theirs little leaves together, Gloryfying the Lord. And how does a sad tree look like? It looks like someone who's like us at church. I'm new to sda and this is the part that bothers me. The music is so sad. If we have the TRUTH in us, let's truly be rejoicefull, happy to truly proclaim our salvation in Christ. I see everyone like sad tree that need to be watered at church.
Pastor Bhor I know you are well learned and studied your Bible well but Psalms 47:1 is not Well interpreted by you. It is misleading interpretation. We do know God is a God of order and there is a form of worship that is acceptable to him and yes you have made many accounts of unacceptable worship to God but please do not confuse people to think that if they clap in church that is against God's rule there is nothing salvific about Not clapping in church. as you have spoken we need to lead people to Christ and not having all these opinions and rules of our own which many of us have used over the years to destroy the church and keep people away from God. It is very clear in psalms 47: 1 what it says. there's the same thing where people have come with their opinion about loudness in the church as if we should always be in a quiet mouse like appearance. please look up many verses in The Bible that refers to loudness. Jesus will come back with a loud noise. we have used these things over the years that have nothing to do with salvation and people coming to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior to keep people out of the church. There is a code for dressing and speaking as Christians but do not tell people that they cannot clap in church or worship settings. it is NOT a sin to do that. Let's deal with the sinful acts that we can see in and out of the church. The Bible say all unrighteousness is sin and clapping of hands is not unrighteous. let's deal with sin as we see them to free people from the bondage of satan.. Our SDA church have been silent on injustice to immigrants and minorities. let's preach about that. all the ills and hypocrisy that we are seeing within our church where nepotism and a many of our leaders have gone astray let's address that. clapping of hands in church or otherwise it's not a sin let's deal with the sins That are around us.
@@christopherakotdeng2261 Are you insinuating that we won't clap hands in heaven? We spend so much time on behavior modification versus character building and the only thing we will take to heaven is our character.
@@christopherakotdeng2261 Better yet send me a verse that says we won't clap in heaven or we shouldn't clap in church and educate me. As a SDA for over 43 years I have seen so many attempts at behavior modification such as length of dresses, wearing of jacket and tie, use of nail polish and the list goes on versus leading people to Christ. whether we clap in church or not it is not about salvation. Ephesians 2: 8 to 9 is explicit and you can go ahead and use Bible gateway and put the word clap and you will see how many times and the references or connotations to the word clap. Let's deal with what is salvific versus behavior modification.

I almost didn’t watch this very good message. The reason why was the thumb nail. The New World Translation Of The Holy Scriptures is what my sister gave me, that is geared for the Jehovah Witness belief. Copyright 1984
Yeah I had that same version, best to get another,I'm using NKJV
KJV is superior to all. Other versions have an easier read or understanding, but always check out the true context with the KJV.
@@xboxice2005 I only use King James or New King James. I don’t use the Holy Scriptures, but like I originally stated, my sister sent me one, and she sent my mother one, now I have both. They make a good dust collector.

Hello even if I'm commenting lately,. Secrets Unsealed produced a series a few years ago on the issue of Women's Ordination.... you may check it and you will be blessed as I was.
Amen🙏this message should be preached in all churches, I've seen so many SDA churches worshipping in a very secular way, God bless your ministry Pastor Bohr👌😊🙏❤️
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
Amen!!!
That's the scripture that I was looking for!!!!

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Nice Opinions, but again. Not biblical. You can not trust your feelings. As a bible based Christian we are not moved by what we think is right. Our rule of living is from the scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
It doesn't matter what we may feel or believe is correct. You have to understand, God does not come down to our standards when it comes to worship in the Sanctuary .Like in all things we have to do it Gods way. Not our way.
1 Corinthians 14:40
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
You can do what ever you want my brother, or sister. Those verses are not in a church setting. Context. This is the reason for the sermon Bohr gave. You don't make a doctrine based off of one verse. You can't assume what God wants, let the bible tell you what our Savior wants. The bible says
Isaiah 28:10-13
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isaiah 8:20
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.

Joshua 24:15
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Harami Bello at 13 minutes he talks about
Psalm 47:1
He's wrong, clapping in praise songs is definitely mentioned in the verse below.
Psalm 47:1 ESV / 42
To the choirmaster.
Reference, please.

Psalms 47:1. I'm going to clap my hands and praise the Lord!!!!
Then you did not watch the presentation because all the verses you mention is covered in the presentation.
If you do not know how to worship in heaven, then you do not know what it means to prepare for heaven. Period.
@@christopherakotdeng2261 Are you insinuating that we won't clap hands in heaven? We spend so much time on behavior modification versus character building and the only thing we will take to heaven is our character.
@@janicemorris3444 Do you have a verse that supports clapping in heaven or Ellen White counsel on the issue in our church today? (Willing to learn)
