Thank you all for the support folks!! For the keen-eyed viewer, some of you may have noticed that this film is based off an old fanfic I wrote, which had an accompanying "Release Trailer". Check the description for links to find out more. (Quick amendment: the FanFiction link should now point to the first act instead of the fourth; whoops).
For sure. At least within my headcanon, within a more nuanced look at the VS in a 50+ year war, I was really gunning after what makes the VS so unique compared to the other factions, i.e. what exactly makes the VS so technologically advanced? With rebirthing technology being a thing, allowing for the systematic preservation of human consciousnesses, I figured empathy enhancing, sensory tech would be a natural byproduct of that, developed and adopted under the VS ideology to improve upon the human condition. At least, that's my interpretation. Thanks for watching! :D
I had never heard about this film before today, and I am simply amazed at how much emotions you all got from great acting, fantastic scores, amazing writing and editing, and a ten years old game.
ok just wow to the whole team enjoyed this all the way to the very emotional end. if i met you all in a bar in Australia would want to buy you all a job very well done beer! cheers
This was great! I'd say this film is on par with many other movies, if not better! I thoroughly enjoyed these 50 minutes of my evening before getting ready to play the game.
4:15 having played against VS forever there is no way that max wasn't flanked by 3 engineer repair tool mains and 4 medics to make sure the engineers stayed up. Great video :D
Hey I was a guy at AVcon yesterday in the back corner seat, you gave your business card to me while this was playing on the big screen - will check out this film properly when I get a chance, and seems like you have some other good content on your channel. Thanks for coming to the convention!
It's definitely a medium that allows great creative freedom for filmmakers on a tight budget. A good place to start, to practice storytelling. Cheers. :)
Wow Wow Wow! absolutely awesome! You have come such a long way. Loved Elizabeth her acting was way up there. Miranda was awesome as usual and integrating the story from one of the previous clips to finish that story line was inspired. There are so many intricacies to Vanu Lore let alone Planetside Lore it's great to see something that brings some of it to the surface. Great to see so many from the community support this as well.
Props to the dedication. I enjoyed the Entrapment story. I recently found out about this continuation and had to watch. You did wonderful. Look forward to more stuff!😆
@@WorldsOfWalsh Naturally, I am a grammar nazi but I spend a lot of my free time reading fanfiction. Most of the stories are written by novices that forget to break up their paragraphs. My brain learned to just autocorrect any errors before I actually notice them. Believe me when I say that you are better than most fanfiction writers.
when i first started to watch i was just waiting for the game to update after a long time away. then i saw 54 minutes long and thought nah not gonna watch a video made from game graphics. 54 minutes later and was still watching. great story, well written. seems disney could learn a thing or two from you. hope your making this shit your career would be a waste of talent not to be a writer producer. gave you sub look forward to seeing more. thank you for your time and effort. not sure who the girl that was acting is but she also for pulling off nothing but close up shots with to me a real feeling was great. close up is hard to pull off for such a long time with realism. hope she is going into acting as well. she has great range. owned the feelings and the character well.
It is my every intention to become an employed Writer-Director in the long-term. With Elizabeth, she is an established TV Actress. We were very lucky to get her for two days. Shoutout to Heesom Casting. Thanks for watching! :)
It was an interesting choice to consider. I could've gone about trying to hire a dozen voice actors or so, at the risk of having battle comms that sound corny and superfluous, or I could simply focus in on the key dialogue that sets up the start and the end of the battle and let the direness of the battle speak for itself. Showing instead of telling felt like the best choice in this case.
Epic, wwtched the whole thing, congrats on getting it onto the official PS2 launcher. You should get in touch with wrel to get a post about the movie on the website
Indeed. The Auraxium armour I chose was meant to denote a higher rank/status for a given soldier (seen on Echo-1, Echo-7 and Ranger-3). In the Entrapment fanfic, I envisioned the armour to be much darker and more subtle in its overall appearance. In an ideal world with a GoT level budget, there would be a number of things I would like to change as far as video game adaptions are concerned. Sci-fi lights on armour in general being one. For now though, it does at least make it easier for the audience to follow the action, in scenes that are already pretty dark.
@@WorldsOfWalsh Oh fear not, I play the game regularly, and I noticed the attention to detail, and respect the obvious effort and planning it took to make this. Well-done, very impressive.
To be fair, as far as the film is concerned, contrast was slightly increased to mitigate "dark whiteness". However this does make things a little darker, and unfortunately, I cannot account for everyone's screen set-ups. :| Particularly because of the "void scene", I now have a greater appreciation for shows/movies that manage "night scenes".

YOU GOT FEATURED ON THE PLANETSIDE 2 LAUNCHER
We just watched the WHOLE thing as a group!
Big shout out from Restraining Order!
It was an absolute delight to watch along, to hear your live reactions!

This gives off machinima vibes of the old days like red vs blue and tells an awesome story!
Somewhere on Auraxis, there is a soldier posing the following question:
"You ever wonder why we're here?"
@@WorldsOfWalsh Its like rvb, but this time its rvbvp (Red vs Blue vs Purple)
10:55 I love how with limited in-game animations you can showcase different situations! Great job! Also, that dodge at 10:37 was frikkin awesome!
great job man. this is such a well written story
Thanks! Looking forward to seeing your animated story in action. :D
That was awesome. I have no more words. Thoroughly enjoyed it! A pity there will never be a planetside tv series like this, that would be cool.
Never say never. :)
Thanks for watching!
I remember trying to nail those bulldog galaxy shots so many times!!!
There was also a number of takes that were required to get Cailly's fall right. Thankfully we had PTS magic to speed the process up.
9/10 better than most films in theaters
Excellent I really liked it and congratulations to everyone who participated, it turned out very well.
Fantastic job. Love it. Despite story being kinda heavy, it reflects what VS are about.

It's the MMOFPS that keeps on ticking, even after all the years I've played since beta. Happy 10th Anniversary!

Big congratz 🎉 It's been a long time coming! Great to see the film finally out in the world and thanks for having me be a part of it!
Excellent job on the music mate! :)

Reminds me of those old Machinimas of halo and gta. Really amazing work here!

Certainly, the storytelling potential for Planetside is pretty big.
Having a TV series on Auraxis would be epic.
Yessir, in the credits!!! Also great movie, glad I could help.
I never realised how animated the shoulders were on the idle animations.
Gotta stay loose and ready to fight yo. :P
You put a lot of work into this and it shows. Nice work. There's a lot of emotion and character in these scenes

Oh man I love the ambient music.
The soundtrack for this film should be available soon on Regi's channel. :)
this is great
Nicely done. Can't wait for the next film
merci !
Bad ass bro I love this
With the fact that there is not a lot of talking at the beginning I still feel the story and words theyre speaking Great Job Man

Quick little amendment to the credits:
"Arbourboy" should be spelt "Arborboy". "Hesson Casting" should be spelt "Heesom Casting".
oh man i remember seeing the trailer for this
Coming Soon (TM)
xD
Your vid got featured in the PS2 launcher, nice
We're always looking for programmers if you are looking for what to do with that degree
Good movie
Wow how did you get a TR player into VR training? Was it all a blender animation?
On the PTS, the server mods weaved a little magic to teleport in. Shoutout to Alpha_141, Rhett and jgolenbo.

I think Denis Villeneuve would play Vanu
Having watched Blade Runner 2049, I can totally see that.
8:49 maybe I'm just a stickler but shouldn't the ninjas not be wearing shiny armor?

Should've used more medics lol
Unfortunate that Echo-12 got picked off early on.
DEV make the game too dark to see....
