OK!!! This is the third reaction I've watched of this and absolutely none of them recognize any of the easter eggs and references that are EPICALLY MIchael Jackson (one even said she was a huge MJ fan..HA)!!
I'd love to get a reaction from a Gen Xer who has never seen this and can fully appreciate it, but I think most of us seen it multiple times when it came out in 2001 and MTV was still mostly videos.
BTW I love the subtle nod to MJs classic high water pants and white socks when he is dancing on the Billie Jean lights towards the end. It's a nice wink that always makes me smile when I watch this video.

@@lip7636 Calm down. If you only listen to his music and haven't seen the videos then you wouldn't be able to pick anything out. MJ videos are old and don't exactly play on a loop on TV like they used to. I'm a fan of Roy Orbison but if someone did a cover with a bunch of Easter eggs in it, I wouldn't be able to spot them. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan of his incredible songs. It all matters how you listen to most of your music.

I USED TO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING BEFORE SCHOOL AND JUST WATCH MUSIC VIDEOS AND GET HYPED FOR MY DAY…. Nowadays I’m surprised ppl of the younger persuasion even know what a music video is….. definitely an art form that’s being gentrified and pushed out of the equation. And because we don’t have a music channel anymore we all turn to RUclips and that’s cool but the negative impact from that is artists are discovered and disappearing all in the same day because the younger generations don’t want to even hear an artists full album anymore!! It’s just what’s next and new for them!😢 This is the age of no musical revolution or anything that looks like ppl who become diehard fans are extinct 😮 now it’s just a revolving door of ppl and bands that sound like garbage water with out a producer and auto tune to make them sound like they cared or are musically inclined at all😂 that’s what the masses want and except as talented ppl then who are we the people who want world renowned singers and instrumentalists to make music for us to keep sane in this disposable reality of the masses that control everything else….. we are not represented because we allow them to keep their positions and control of the choices they give us for what they would except as popular music. I feel sad because all that would help fix this downward spiral of an art is a MUSIC TELEVISION CHANNEL THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS MUSIC AND VIDEOS WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE DISCUSSING THEM AND HAVING THAT MEMORY OF WHERE THEY WERE AT WHEN THEY FIRST HEARD AND SAW A NEW VIDEO FROM AN ARTIST THEY WERE CLUELESS TOO MOMENTS BEFORE… TO ENDING UP BEING A REAL FAN WITH A REALLY REAL IN REALITY REACTION AND EMOTIONAL RESPONSE. That’s all it would take to get it back on track I feel…. I just miss watching and discovering not like today where you search what you know and ultimately limits your ability to accidentally find and fall in love with an artist ❤

that's a michael jackson patent for "the lean"
he had round pegs rise up through the stage that would rise up where he stood, and had round holes in the heels of his shoes they would go up in, giving him much more angular leans, it's called leverage

The chorus refrain, "Annie, are you OK?" in Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" was inspired by Resusci Anne. Trainees learn to say "Annie, are you OK?" while practicing resuscitation on the dummy.[7]

A lot longer than that, this was early oughts sometime I think, if not late 90's, it just got uploaded to youtube 14 years ago. MJ did the lean with hidden metal hooks and plates on the bottom of his shoes and in the stage that would lock his feet in place. AAF I think used wires. This is AAF's cover of Smooth Criminal so they did indeed play the music, but whether or not they're actually playing it in the video, I don't know. The video itself is a big love letter to Michael Jackson, it's so disjointed because it incorporates a lot of disparate parts of *his* videos. The glowing sidewalk comes from Billy Jean, the wolfmask and thriller dance come from.. well, thriller. The vent he pulls off the ground that blows out air is from Bad, so on.

You will probably never read this, but there are some serious MJ references in this video. Im sure im missing some, but these are the big ones
    1. The lean
    2. The girl in the wolf mask is a throwback to thriller
    3. The monkey (MJ had a monkey named bubbles)
    4. The "glove" chair the lead singer is sitting it with the monkey
    5. The light up floor from Billie Jean
    6. The exploding car is a reference to the video for Black and White.
    7. The white smoke coming out of the ground is a throw back to a few videos as well, notably Give in to Me.
    8. The eyes with contacts is from Thriller
    9. The kid in the mask is referring to MJ wearing one in public for a time.
