The Lewitt Ray works very well. When you moved far away you could pick up a little room reverb, but minimal. No Proximity effect.
Yeah, I need to get rid of that room reverb. Time for some more acoustic treatment!
@@SanjayC You could probably use that mic to make a chorus type effect with the room reverb... Record someone singing or playing something close, then record again gradually moving back, repeat a few times in different directions/distances and then layer the final result. I like the look of the folding keyboard too!
You can definitely hear room reverb and the proximity effect, but not as extreme as with other mics.
Ray mic tech is cool, but needs some work. As you moved away the room echo went up, but it's a first version, and the price is right, so it's still decent. The folding keyboard is pretty darn cool to travel with. Blessings up for Dharti ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🫡
Thanks so much for thinking of Dharti. Yes I agree with what you said about Ray. And thanks so much for the Super Thanks, man!
I learned today that Melodyne has a levelling feature, when used on vocals significantly evens out the recording. Acts a bit like a vocal riding compressor? It works well.
Prayers and well wishes for Dharti .
What's going on? Best wishes to Dharti from me too.
QotD - Little Alter Boy on vocals... Dial it in just right and it adds a very natural but lush separation and movement. 10/10 Absolutely recommend.
Get well soon Dharti! Prayers and positive thoughts :)
That mic sounds really good. Super clean and crisp. And the volume adjust is great.the price is great for what it’s doing.
A nice update on the music tech world. Thanks Sanjay. Best wishes to Dharti for a successful recovery.
Love your videos. I learn so much! Thank you , Sanjay. Praying for our dear Dharti. Wishing her a quick recovery.
Sanjay won't lie just started watching you brother and thank you for your perfect content. You and a few out their are really a blessing to a person like me. Thank you good sir 💫🙏🏾
Some Midiplus stuff is available in Europe. I own their X6 Master keyboard.
Praying for you and Dharti🤲🏾🫵🏾💪🏿🫶🏿
Heartfelt love and positive thoughts for Dharti. Fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery.
💜
I think for what it does that "Aura" mike does a very decent job. You can clearly hear tho when you move away from the microphone you get a more "room" sound but it keeps the level and frequency sound fairly in line. It's interesting for I'd say mostly youtubers and podcasters that tend to move around a bit when doing a show. I don't think i would use the processing for a vocal recording session without seeing a more technical analysis what the processing actually does to the phase an frequenciy curve from different angles and distances
Damn... I stay near that Kadence store haha :) Great video as always :)
QOTW: Most of the time, I make instrumental music, thus vocals don’t play that much of a role. That said, I have more often than not used some kind of reverb on them.
FabFilter: can’t go wrong with Pro-Q, Pro-C, Pro-L [and yes I know there are numbers]. Then you have Saturn if you like saturation.
Soundtoys: yes, I’ve been using these for a while 😁.
I did try AI-Loudener last week - thanks for the code - and it is quite impressive. I may even employ this in my own work.
Hi Derek! Glad you took advantage of the AI-Loudener deal! You've got some great plugins in your arsenal for sure...thanks for sharing!
I like mixing my delays into reverbs as well for my vocals on sends of course
Nice one...classic, tried, and tested!
You my brother, have such a beautiful disposition, I watched all the way...and yes i hit the like and subscribe buttons. Prayers to you Dharti...Scrolling through your other videos now...GOD's Speeeeeeeed!
it picks up more room ambience as you back away, so that's a change, but any mic would do that. there's a little bit of proximity warmth up close, but the volume was pretty consistent
Who heard 11000 and thought that was dollars. second price sounds more right Bob.
That mic is great, there was no change in the volume or tone of your voice when you moved back and forth.
sir Rode Nt 1 5 th generation
And Rode Nt 2 A mic

My go-to effect when working with vocals is hands down the Valhalla Supermassive by Valhalla DSP. It is just so nice sounding and mostly it is free and it does not have any audio dropouts
You know, I've never tried Supermassive on my vocals. Nice idea. Do you use other Valhalla plugins?
@@SanjayC Yes, I also use ValhallaDelay, ValhallaShimmer and ValhallaSpaceModulator but these plugins have audio dropouts so I use them less, but there are situations where I use them
The keyboard was pretty nice imo! Looks super convenient for travelling producers imo
Sanjay I tuned in been way for a bit bruh, seen you were doing this by yourself & was wondering where your other half was. Im sorry to see dharti in the hospital, tell her I wish her a speedy recovery.. wow your a real trooper the show must go on lewitt said they were coming with a revolutionary microphone. nice Kinna wish I would of thought of that. sounded nice.. don't want to take up to much of your time you have a lot on your plate.. wishing you & dart the very best.. Tony
Continued prayers for Dharti from So Cal!
I'd love to have something like the MidiPlus when travelling (like next weekend. lol). I like that it folds up to fit into a carry-on. The company is on Amazon, but that particular ikeyboard is not.
Any suggestions for a portable 25-key controller that works and has transport capabilities with Ableton and Studio One? Have a Push 3 but it is too big. lol
... the distance from the microphone at 0:50 is there (you can hear the "space" in between).
Yeah, the room reverb comes in - but volume and tone remain
0:50 it sounds the same, but the room comes in as you move back. I wonder how it would work with a Kaotika Eyeball.
Well wishes for your lovely Dharti! ❤
With the Aura thing, the level was quite consistent as if you had a heavy compressor on the output. However, the balance of reflections and room tone to the dry, direct sound of your voice can be heard to change very readily.
My go to secret weapon for vocal processing is a little bit of reverb to hide the weakness at the start and end of whatever verse I'm singing, as well as the most important weapon, to record the part over and over and over again until it sounds right. :D
Hiya Sanjay, great video.
Also, I'm in Asia. I'm still living in China. :D
My secret weapon for vocal processing is the ability to correctly pronounce the word processing. The advantage of being English. 😁
You should review the FiFine A6T it’s really cheap but is really good for the price. It also has a lot in the package.
Nice one Sanjay
I like the keyboard especially as the white keys are longer than most other small controllers very well thought out however the high angle is gimmicky unless you can adjust it to less of a steep angle.
Another ob synth well it better be dramatically better than the many alternatives as you can only have so many of that sound and so far not many get to the real guts of the oBX
Any news on the Audio interface front ? Many thanks
My secret weapon for vocals is OTT, nice
Hey Dharti! Prayers going up! :)
The elektron gear won’t do easy key changes. Curious if the II fixes this shortcoming.
Been an ardent follower of your RUclips channel. As always, crisp and informative stuff!
Best wishes to Dharti! 🍀
The Realistic Concert Mate was the first synth I ever played when I was still in school, from Radio Shack. It was a full-featured mono synth and a limited poly mode (don't forget to tune it!). They're actually pretty expensive to buy used now (almost $1k last I checked Reverb), probably because no one really valued them much back then so there aren't many left. Great that there's a VSTi version.
the RAY mic seems a blessing for post production guys
True...and if they just add a little de-reverb plugin...done!
Ray seems really great for content creators. The only difference I heard while you were moving around was more room sound when you were further away. 👍
Aura works quite well. But if you move too far away, it sounds a bit hollow ... as any other mic would do.
You may be hearing the reverb of my room when I move back...too bad it can't remove reverb as well. I'd buy a mic that can do that!
@@SanjayC Proximity effect. But it does do a good job on level match as you move further.
Thinking of you and Dharti!
As for the mic, I don’t like it as much as the normal one you use. This one felt thin and too airy. Almost like it was doing adaptive eq in an over the top way the entire time. Maybe I’m just used to your voice on the other mic. But I’ve also had the pleasure of hearing your voice in person over the years and this mic you were demoing didn’t represent it correctly.
My one true wish is that I could collab with somebody with professional skills just once in my life. All so I can get a grasp of a proper mix. I've been doing this for YEARS and my songwriting ability is solid. But doing all the production and mixing myself, I never feel like it sounds close to a professional release. There is always something just 'slightly' off about it, but without any obvious way to fix it.. like I've made some minor simple error in the mixing process part way through, like carve out a chunk of important frequencies on a bunch of tracks, leaving a hole in the frequency range... (obviously not that I would do this.. I'm trying to convey the idea that there is something 'missing')
The mic is getting rid of proximity effect, it won’t work as well in a reflective room because it’s getting second reflections before or during your initial sound.
Bro can you please do a review of the best vocal processors (hardware) out there for live performance... with vocal effects, harmony's, doubling, choir, echo and delays
oh no! hope Dharti gets well quickly!
Thanks so much 🙏
I hope you get well soon, Dharti!!!
Sanjay you should get the circuit drums as it is available for free for only today and also the stings library that fracture sounds put out from their blueprint series both of them are great but circuit drums will only be free for today so guys get it from crow hill company
Hey Abhishek! Thanks for sharing the tip!
Hmmm, the Lewitt Aura effect is good but the mic seems pretty sharp on sibilance.
The V-Board is very cool, I like the mix of controls and the bluetooth capability in particular.
The midi keyboard looks cool
Can you guys recommend me your favorite native instruments play series.
What is a good wireless guitar transmitter to use on your keyboard with your amp or soundboard?
Great question! I haven't tried any...maybe someone here has a suggestion.
I have the MPC 61 key , Nord D6 and of my motif xf7 keyboard what guitar transmitter will work on the keyboards plugged into an amp and soundboard?
Fun video - really enjoyed it 👍
I hope dharti gets well soon
I tend to lean twords a simple delay, single repeat for singing since the repeat itself has a sort of a "Doubling" effect. I also depending on the preamp and Mic tend to add a slight bit of around 300hz to my vocal to give it a bit more tone and thickness. BUt i am a amatuer so, i dont know wtf i am doing :-0
I to will pray for Dharti!!!
i love that midi controller
Youre realy getting more natural on camera
Hi Sanjay, were you able to check the song? Thanks.
Hi, can you remind me which song?
@@SanjayC Its just one song I have. Please check. :-)
Sure will do
@@SanjayC There's a short version and long version of the song. Some people like short, some want more (if they like it). :-)
Hi from HongKong
I saw midi plus couple months ago.
As a traveller I really like idea even I get excited
However when I try it... Feeling of keys was so bad, knobs,, you cant hold.
Other futures are so good but also big ...
So korg nano series must be better and convinient
Those mics were good enough to hear those cheap keys 😂 8:58
Maybe a good de-verb and back noise remover switch/option on the Ray Mic would make pretty tempting for home studio beginners in particular and maybe throw in a real time AI voice changer and auto-tune as well for good measure :D . I like to side chain reverb and add a compressor after to mess around with the reverb can sounds cool in the right track.
If you want an excellent de-reverb, I highly recommend Clarity de-Reverb by Waves. I use it on voiceovers all the time.
I’m so tired of touch sliders on midi controllers
With you on that one 👊🧡👍
FINGER DRUMS,LOL nice demo
Tonex1 led me to look at the Two Notes Revolt as a different option
You were in india ?
For how many days and what was the plan for your india trip
Lots of love from Maharashtra, India😊
That controller looks really cool but it sounds like a cheap plastic computer keyboard. Plastic on plastic on plastic.
Guess what, I was aw'weady subscribed...lol!
Hey Sanjay! :)
AS you back away, room reverb is apparent. Closer does a decent job of cutting boom, but still obviously compressing. Overall, nice try. Better than the average dumb mic. BTW, 20-20K +/- what? For voice, not so important. For acoustics, noise from elbows on the table etc., important.
Nice idea for the mic but I didn't like the bright sound.
I don't really like when companies go all black on keys, (Like on the MicroFreak Stellar.) I can't explain it but it just looks greasy or something 😅
how you earrn ??
Strange: I went to my Cherry Audio account and saw that the MG-1 was already in my account. I guess it was a freebie at a previous point in time...
The mic has echo the farther away you talk. It's going to be cool for recording harmonies
Yup...I noticed that it caught my room reverb...wish they had built a de-reverb into it
At the same time. there’s a reason why engineers will put microphones away from a source to get the “room” sound.
Link 7 for the midiplus folding keyboard goes to a meaningless Amazon search page
get well soon dharti.
Notification Squad 💚
Shiv is here! How are you Shiv?
@@SanjayC doing great! I hope Dharti is recovering well.
Thanks Shiv...she is :-)
What about the new juicer? :-(((
We need a barefoot speakers review
Yeah, I know...I need to compare them with some other monitors first. Which ones should I try?
@@SanjayC withe Adam's audio
Why the hell can't we buy that Vboard anywhere?!
That keyboard seems to be really cheaply made and is really noisy in its operation, (like the clicking of buttons and the keybed). I reckon that it's worth nowhere near the asking price, (in US $s).
look up nux MG30
That was a very long advert
Wow
Hi Bobbda...which device do you like most?
India!!!!!!!!
The RAY didn’t seem impressive. Did I miss something?
The audio in this video sounds filtered and unnatural to me
Timestamps please I don’t like searching and skipping otherwise I will simply watch a few seconds and then stop instantly
You can stop watching that’s your choice
Okay… did you watch any videos before the feature was a thing? Entitled much
How lazy are you, with a 14-minute video? 😐
i like the demanding 😂
Lazy! Stop instantly and go away! Bye! 👋
Honestly I hope that folding keyboard stays in Asia.
Aura is garbage… You push and pull the flow from a Mic to control the dynamics of singing. I have a deep chest and stupidly loud naturally, so when I hit high or get aggressive I gotta pull away from the mic. For podcasting fine, but title of vid is Music Gadgets.
I don't wanna be rude, but you have obviously no clue about acoustics. Of course you can hear a difference when you're far away from this mic. And Of course the color of your voice changes the more diffusive you get ...
Aura rubbish it does not do what you suggest it is!
