Seeing your footage, this lens kinda gives that soft but pleasantly sharp modern vintage kind of vibe. Not overly clinical when wide open. Nice skin tone rendering. At first I thought I might try all those Chinese affordable cine lens to get this kind of character but it seems I don't have to look far now!
Very perceptive ears...used a door slam with high reverb and bass arp to add rhythmic momentum. Though the base is bit eerier soundtrack to better fit the horror theme of the short film

That lens is one of the few fuji primes that i think has a nice roll off and is great for video. Yes in general fuji glass is very sharp, great for photography. If i had to suggest some lenses for video it would be the zoom lenses, f2 lenses, 33mm f1.4 LM and the 18mm that you have. If you want more content you can join the discord and i can send you a specific file, though you will have to do some editing yourself as my audio workflow is chaotic
i was coming on your channel to check out some sigma fp... was thinking of maybe get one (but i have to sell some stuff first - fuji sx10) and now i see some fuji stuff here ; and i'm torn... i have a bmpcc og, so i want another m4/3 camera ; i'm not sure between the bmpcc 4k, or a gh5 or if i should go with the fp. Thank you for making it harder to choose ;)
gh5 is good! gotta love the ibis, however i prefered fuji for the crop system. Id say dont get the bmcc4k if you already have the OG pocket, id get a sigma over that camera for 100 lifetimes
I live this lens but due to the softness wide open at close distance where a person's head fill up most of the frame it don't work for me. I hope the will make a se ibd version and fix this issue.. i use the viltrox 23mm meanwhile or 27mm
Right, I very rarely shoot at f2, mostly f2.8. However in this film i shot at f2 because i went for a dreamy look, wasn't necessary to see the pores on my paper bag
@@cleverghostchili true razor sharp is not nice either, the issues with this lens became a problem for be with the xt5 as I started to do more of my street photography with a 23mm I ofen go close and I like the prescce a 23/35full frame portrait are able to give at some distances it's not just not soft it lacks sharpness. The x100f had a simular issue but still performed bether than the lens, they fixed that issue on the 100v hope they fix it on the. lens or. that we get a small thrid party AF23mm lens soon
@@Kim_Alexander right especially since the xt5 is 40mp. You should take a look at the 23mm f1.4 LM I made a video about it as well. The sharpness and resolve detail is incredible I can zoom 100% no loss of quality
It's very similar in pastel creaminess and image quality. However since deeper apertures are better paired with wide focal lengths for photography, the 23mm is better suited for f2 whereas the 35mm is a bit too soft wide open for portraits. Also the AF is worse on the 35, though definitely better than the 35mm f1.4. Overall similar lens, just stop down to f2.8

I dont understand, did i offend your sensibilities? Does Ace not base his work off the original bladerunner, which was based off of Japanese Ghost in the Shell? Are most art forms not a derivative? Is an artist like John Mayer not influenced by SRV, Jimi Hendrix, JS Bach? If you think I blatantly stole something from him I'd be glad to change if you told me what it was, though I actually write the own music and do live in China. I wouldn't make these videos if I didn't have something different to offer or think I could do it better. His style is quite consistent, he prefers vintage aesthetics and photography. I focus on modern aesthetics and videography. If you have any suggestions on how I should be my own i'm all ears

I've been watching GxAce for a while and I'm inspired by his style and look at your videos, yes, you do have some similarities some more similar than others like the drone shot openings but overall your delivery and flow and video elements is unique to you. So keep on working on your craft because man the quality of your vids have been increasing over the months. And we need people like you to review gear in such a way that isn't overwatered with this "influencer hyped" feel all the time and infact review some gear that not many people even care about.

It’s very compatible since a lot of Fuji cameras are quite sharp for video, this lens gives a good balance. Don’t be afraid to shoot at f8

They are totems with mystical qualities that never stop spinning. And you can buy them on Ali express for about 5 dollars
