  • What's it like to live in the most futuristic neighborhood of New York. Shopping, dining, landmarks and residential apartments.
    February 2024 Update:
The developer Related Companies' proposal for a Hudson Yards casino would entail three skyscrapers, an office tower and more than 1,500 units of housing to be built on a platform above the undeveloped Western Rail Yards - amounting to a $12 billion investment, according to plans filed with the city this week.

@@sthelensson If it is THEIR homes/property (and not a rental) then forcing them out of their homes (and I do mean by force) is indeed evil/wicked. No one should be able to force you to give up your private property. If the property is not their own but, in fact, someone else's (landlord's) then it is just as evil/wicked to force a landlord to give up his/her property (or potential income) from it because his/her tennants demand to occupy his/her private property thus taking private property away from the legitmate owner. Unfortunatly, all too often, those who cry wicked when something is done to them are all too happy to do the wicked act to others when they themselves benefit.

“Affordable housing” is a scam run by politicians on the voters.
It used to be that almost anyone could live in NYC, including poor immigrants.
Well, thanks to government housing laws, they made it unaffordable for anyone but the very wealthy.
If we had a free market in housing, there would be housing available at all price points.

As someone who lives in Hudson Yards, I have to say its one of my least favorite neighborhoods in the city. All rental apartments starting prices at $5,000 at least, there is no history in the neighborhood, as it is brand new and only caters to the super rich. Hudson Yards after 7pm daily has not a whole lot to offer other than nice views if you are lucky to live in one of the expensive condos buildings.
