    I had my hernia repaired 24 years ago I have been in pain every day since, the doctor told me “ you have to learn to live with it, if I operate again I will be admitting that the first operation was done incorrectly and I’m not prepared to do that.”

    I've had mesh repair on abdominal hernia. The pain is still there like before the repair. The hernia seems to be gone but now have a hydrocele in testicle. I also have a old repair to a hydrocele on the other side. The old repair has started hurting and developed cyst. So I have pain in both testicles and abdomen and limited mobility due to the mesh. The urologist have refused to help me anymore. I don't know why they won't fix my testicles by removing cyst and repair the hydrocele. Maybe because of mesh in the way or because I've ran out of money. Please help

    I had revision surgery done. The Bard mesh had migrated stuck to my sperm cord and had to be directed off the cord with a robotic arm. The failed mesh also caused a new hernia that had to be repaired in conjunction with the old one. My nerve damage is so severe that I walk with a special cane and I am about to get a prescription for a wheelchair. I am permanently disabled and the pain is so bad everyday I fear long term the pain will be unbearable. Currently my testicle that the mesh migrated to is 3 times longer than the other one and I have appointments to see a neurologist, urologist, and may possibly lose the testicle. This is common for the Bard Perm fix Plug that I received. Any idea what a case like this is worth???

      There is no official recall yet, the FDA still allows physicians to use mesh. It is scary. There are thousands of suits pending against the largest maker of hernia mesh, and they are about to start going to trial one after the other. This may result in a large mass settlement for anyone who qualifies.
      To make a claim for a hernia mesh injury you need to have at least one subsequent surgery or procedure to try and fix the problem.
      The elements are: 1) Mesh is used, 2) Mesh failed causing you to get a procedure.

      Keep in mind most people, the vast majority have no problems with the mesh. Hernia's are repaired with mesh in the hundreds of thousands each year in USA.It is a small minority that have issues for various reasons just like any surgery. Law firms make their money representing those that might experience a bad procedure and outcome. It's good we have law firms that keep the medical industry honest. Unfortunately these advertisements have the unfortunate effect of scaring people into not having a surgery they may need. I would love to hear how your surgery went.

    • @MattlawAttorney

      @maurizioantonnicola8724 3 года назад +1

      @@MattlawAttorney Hernia repair with no mesh equals higher reoccurrence rates which would also require a second surgery. For active athletic people no mesh might not be best. Either way, for a minority of patients hernia repair is a risky proposition as is any surgery. The skill of the surgeon matters as does the number of hernia surgeries he/she has performed. Look for 500 plus hernia surgeries performed. Robotic /Laproscopic with mesh seems to have better outcomes. Just as a note : studies show that complications occur even with no mesh being used.

      It really sucks if you have hernia mesh inside your body and it starts to adhere to your organs.

      Hi Dr. Khan, Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. Hernia Mesh is not a safe way to repair a hernia. The risks are just to high. The old fashioned surgery techniques are safer. But they take more time and require a higher degree of skill.

      I question your numbers, coming from a mesh fail experience.
      Uninformed or uncaring Dr's kept telling me you can't remove mesh and live with the pain. Five years later I was blessed with a miracle..I found a doctor in another state that finally removed mesh and now I'm left to see how much I can recover from the damage left behind from mesh surgery, nerve, intestinal and adhesion issues.
      I am able to live now because the mesh is gone and can move around better.
      Mesh does not flex and move like your body does and that can cause issues as well as all the other issues associated.
      Dr's sometimes don't believe because they can't see the cause of pain with a scan or test.
      Mesh is death you can avoid.
