Might come as a bit of a shock, but not everyone in Middlesborough's life revolved around Lee Duffy. Why would another grown man NEED to mention Lee Duffy in a book about himself? Different people, different circles.
I knew Mark when we were 16/17 and we used to go to the Northern Soul All-Niters. He was a normal size. I saw him again 20 years later and he was a man mountain.
Quality upload and book recommendation, I’ve not heard of the Debricks - wasn’t Ian Freeman from Boro? I remember reading his book years ago and enjoying it. Not sure if youve done a video on him? He was pals with Dave Courtney I believe.
Shame he didn’t mention duffy in the book as he would of had some crazy stories, but the reason he didn’t is that he was also good mates with Allo (the bloke who stabbed Duffy) There’s a good chapter from Paul’s brother in the book ‘The Blood Moon’ about Duffy, the night he broke the bouncers neck, and a few other stories. Crazy times back then
Different league ! If he'd av mentioned owt disrespectful bout Lee then he'd av had no peace ! Lee wud av went round his place night after night til he faced him , then battered him ! An done that most likely every time he bumped in to him

Slightly different but better is Jimmy Boyle: A Sense of Freedom. If you ever think your life's shit, read this. It's good because it's so grey and barren and hopeless you can feel it. I dunno why I remember this, but he'd never seen a cow or sheep until he was in the prison van going to prison. He grew up in the tenements, in the Gorbals, Glasgow. I could not put it down. They built a special prison for him called The Special Unit in Barlinnie. He was known as the most dangerous man in Scotland in the 1960s, when they didn't have straighteners, because getting slashed was everywhere. This book puts you in the heart of the greyness and shitness of the Gorbals. He fought on the streets, then fought anyone within reach in prison. Depressing as fuck, but that's the point.
