    Hi from BC! Great video- my daughter (8 yr old) gasped when she saw the line missing (where the wax fell off). Then told me that if she was a professional making the eggs, she would put the Sun symbol over top of a mistake so no one could see her mistake. Then she gasped again and asked if we could start making these eggs. You inspired an 8 yr old - so thank you. 🥚 + ❤️=🥰

      Haha that is too sweet! Yes I was a little sad when the wax came off, I should have known better than to use cold eggs straight from the fridge haha! So cute of her. Thanks so much for watching and commenting - good luck :)

    We decorated our easter eggs today and my kiddos and I used wax crayons to mimic the batique method. Then we watched your videos and were mesmerized. We would be honoured to win the supplies so we can try it ourselves. I love this sort of detailed patterns in art and my daughter is starting to follow in my footsteps. :)

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  Год назад +1

      Hello Mattias! The instructions on how to make the dyes are printed directly on the dye packet - usually it's distilled water with a teaspoon of vinegar and the dye. I don't put anything in it and the dye usually stays good for 2-3 years (unless something gets into the dye like a cracked egg or food or something, then we dispose of it right away).

    You've made a excellent video! Your booklet looks interesting and it's clearly presented. As a retired Grade three teacher, I think it's well suited for classroom use. Canada has the largest population of citizens outside of the country of Ukraine , therefore the teaching of pysanky in Canadian schools has cultural, historical and of course , artistic value. I have one concern however about the use of candles to melt the wax on the dyed egg. I know that a substace similar to paint thinner can also be used but that wouldn't work in the classroom due to the toxicity of the fumes which emanate off of the paint thinner. Parent helpers could assist with the use of candles I suppose but I'm wondering about school district rules about the use of candles in the classroom. Could you please comment? Thank you.

    • @3peaksclassroom
      @3peaksclassroom  2 года назад

      Each district would have their own policies for sure. I know within my own district it isn’t an issue so long as it’s supervised. I appreciate the comment and heads up of course! Thank you for the comment and for watching :). Good luck!
