27:00 4th edition was really good for those that play TTRPGs like a skirmish game with character progression. The problem with it is that's not what a large section of DnD players want from the game. While not a perfect analogy, I think an apt comparison is Final Fantasy Tactics in that it's a departure from the norm for the sake of, ideally, more interesting combat where things like positioning matter quite a bit.
