The ULTIMATE sheet metal break build

  • This little metal brake took me FOREVER to make! I decided to make this after doing some research on some store bought brakes (like the little Harbor Freight metal brake) but I didn't really like any that were on the market, or they were too expensive for what I wanted one for.
Had I known what I'd gotten myself into, I think I might have just spent the money.
I started working on it early November 2022, and over the next 6 months it slowly and painfully came together here and there. Honestly, this was not the most pleasant thing to make, and it only functions OK. I need to slot the bolt holes to make it adjustable to tighten up the bend radius a little bit. At least I learned a few things with this project, and it did bend the few sheets of steel I needed it to, so I got the function I needed.
If I ever made this again I don't think I would make it like this one. It looks cool though!

Beautiful brake. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
