Eloy Casagrande gave an interview wich he said Steve Vai had a hard time to play some songs like roots because he was not familiarized that much with some brazillian rithms, so he was aproaching his picking in different styles. Eloy said Andreas explained to him this half tempo picking and the result is this massive performance by the great Steve Vai!

This is the greatest thing I have seen in a while. Bad Horsie is one of my favourite Vai songs...and with Sepultura backing him up on it makes it so much better. Vai showing off his metal side with jamming out on Roots makes me smile. Andreas is looking at Steve with a "I wish I could do that" look. What an awesome collaboration.

I've been waiting for Steve Vai to play all out metal for so so long. This was awesome. I hope he takes inspiration for this and makes an all out metal guitar album. I know it's highly unlikely but man it would be awesome.
That really worked well with Steve Vai. Sepultura could re-record a old song or two with Steve Vai, the man really knows what he's doing and he always does a good job, like here.
