Saw them at an overcrowded club in Long Beach, CA in the mid 80s. It was so crowded and I was so high, I passed out right in the middle of the crowd. It was so crowded that I didn't fall over. When I came to, I was still standing in the sea of people. Amazing night in my teen life. Thanx GLJ
That happened to me at iron maiden
Is this actually the REAL original GLJ??? Sorta odd but intriguing in a great way !!!!🤪
Awesome story!
Saw em twice met em twice in gigs in Washington DC damn great live shows unfortunately Micheal had left band did ya catch their great gig ever reunion 1999 or a few years earlier? It was just like their old gigs absolutely fabulous! It’s on utube under GLJ reunion gig I think not sure of title! Damn those 80’s were so f in awesome still into these dudes both have music out but 80’s bands were the bomb!.... lol bro bet u had a hell of a great time take care bro!!!! Wish I could’ve been there to c u there!!! Lol 👍💜🇺🇸🔥❤️💯🎶🎵☮️
@@kjkvr1568 cool dude!... happened to me at band called Traffic in the 70’s or late 60’s was trippin with 3 friends & they walked by before gig actually never remember hearing any music totally train wrecked! Just high & that’s about all I remember!!! Lol 👍🇺🇸💜☮️
In the B side runout groove of the 45 EP is scribed the lettering "The sexiest twins" in capitals.
Unusual/unique voice; I like the sound
AWESOME
Love this song...so Awesome
I love the song I shaved my neck. This EP is very anticommercial, alternative, gothic. 🖤 i love the song Brand New moon, of another album, (Discovery) remember the powerful Duran Duran. 💙
i danced for hours to this at the goth clubs
Great stuff
+Wayne Adey I still have the original 12" signed, Fussell gave it to me years ago, do you remember? x xx
Yes I do xx
Happy days x xx
Well I don't think he actually gave it to me...I got loads of punks records when they went to London. Kersh's, Ashleys and Fussells
I'm still not convinced this is the same GLJ that performed all the other songs under that name. completely different sound, vibe, everything
That's because they moved away, somewhat from Post-Punk,but were still identifiable a little with it,but with a very different vibe...like Romantic-Goth or something like that...
They have a song called Brand New moon (album Discovery) that remember the powerful Duran Duran of the amazing 80's. I love the song I shaving my neck too. 😊😎
Michael Aston doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for developing the band’s sound! He was what brought them their more poetic and goth side, he’s such an underrated artist
@CrimCrim that's what broke them apart. Michael wanted to make music more like this, and Jay wanted to make music like Motion of Love cus it was commercial
I only know of this song because of Mick Mercer's Gothic Rock CD compilation collection.
PFFFT! Right.
I always enjoy your comments but this is just not my GLJ glad I didn’t ever buy it or hear it this is ......................................😱🤪
Makes me think of when The Banshees' "Peek-a-Boo" single came out; and when people in the Mainstream who liked the song would ask me "what other albums should I check out and buy from Siouxsie?" I'd tell them to pick up The Scream.
ivorytower99 is this the dvd that some dude says exhausts or is he bs in me who may I ask who Mark Mercer is? Hope I don’t come across as some dimwit 🙏❤️👍☮️
ivorytower99 favorite song is SLOW DIVE !!!!!!❤️👍
@@cathsalazar9930 Mick Mercer is a veteran journalist, who covered the entire rise and "fall" of gothic music, from it's inception, to current bands in 2020. He published the book "Gothic Rock Black Book" in 1988, then at the request of his late friend Sheldon, Mick published another book called "Gothic Rock", which came with a 2-cd compilation. Gene Loves jezebel's "Shaving My Neck" was included on the first cd, befittingly.
fucking cool
Kind of sounds like Gordon Sharp (Cindy Talk)
And the music too, a little.
