    Talking Koch
    Richard is at the Cambridge Corn Exchange and starts with a joke he first did in this venue 25 years ago. His guest is standup and daughter of the former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Olga Koch.
    They talk about St Petersburgh and (inevitably) Rasputin and his cock, having sex with a sea creature, making bad man seem slightly better via stand up, how Richard hopes his penis might survive him (again), a confectionary tribute to an ex, how Chelsa Clinton is probably getting more than she deservers, cutting up strap-ons with a paper slicer. The conversation keeps coming back to genitalia for some reason. I can’t imagine what prompted it.

    I once made a jokey comment questioning the structural integrity of the timber in Richards country property. This is now something I deeply regret, as I can see quite clearly at the start of this video, that the Oak joist-pitch and the depth of their tenons into the beams are absolutely on-point, and if anything a little structurally excessive. Their apparent blonde appearance is also indicative of a recent Xylophene treatment so I think it is fair to say that the upper framework of the property at least will be insect free for at least the next 80 years (I cannot say the same for Richard, that is not for me to judge). I do hope that this good news will bring some cheer to us all during these dark days. Stay safe everyone.

    Awkward. Was this is a 1000-seat venue with 400 people in it?! Rich seems uncomfortable and isn't letting her talk.

    • @richardherring9478

      Man, if you think that's awkward then you do not want to see the size audiences I played to in the 90s and 2000s and how small the audiences were. 400 is an amazing result.

    I ended up spending a large percentage of the time just wondering if he was going to attempt to address the fact that an interview needs two people without making her upset or uncomfortable. He probably did the right thing by going by the rule of thinking of the guest as they have been invited and they bothered to turn up. And she obviously was not doing it on purpose. But it does boggle the mind to think that someone involved in the business would be so blind to the situation. Definitely going to stick in my head as the most accidentally non-receptive interviewee ever.

    • @SusiPineapple
      @SusiPineapple 4 года назад +1

      For me it wasn't really that, I just didn't find her very funny or engaging. Every answer seemed to have to be dragged out of her; nothing was forthcoming. Just my opinion though. Each to their own. She did get lots of really positive comments too, just not my cup of tea as an interviewee.
      I'd still be interested to check out her stand up comedy and also the scripted stuff she's done.

    • @davidtaylor4204

      It started off well initially. But the problem was that she did not want to talk in depth about many of the things Richard - and many of us I would guess- found interesting (about her background).

    Whenever Richard mentions the stone clearing I think "does the farmer/field owner want the stones cleared?" and "what are they doing with the stones" perhaps they could send them to Trump for his wall - just tell him they are the best the most beautiful, the best at keeping out immigrants - and he'll pay over the odds for them - lol!!!

    So much snooker, it's like I'd forgot about this. Live shows, stones, it's class time for Herring fans, suspiciously so. Richard have you considered that the IT guys have banded together to create the corona story just for your village's Internet feed. A program altering all the Internet for you so as to isolate you(trumsn style but using algorithms) thus increasing your already prolific content output? It's the sort of thing we would do...

    40:00 - someone tel Olga she learned in an American school, using an American dictionary.
    Russian has less words than English/English...
    Russian has 150k ish which is still less than the OED's 171k, English also has 41k 'obsolete' words that we still use, making for 210k in the English lexicon, Americans have never know these 'obsolete' words in the first place.
    Yah ponyo etoi tovarish.
