Official store: bit.ly/44YwKiC On sale till 5/5/2024 Amazon Link amzn.to/3QumgSB I just noticed that they put this model on sale. No idea how long it will be on sale.
Mr Dave, this drone weighs more than 249g. The weight puts it in a different class of drone with more restrictive rules and .gov registration. The DJI 4 pro weighs less than 249g, longer and more stable flight, further distance, and no need to download software to your phone because the controller has its own flight viewing screen. Don't get caught flying a unregistered +249g drone, the .gov will mess up your life. Yes, the DJI is a little more costly but Amazon makes it easy to purchase with the ability of breaking up the payments with a Amazon charge card account. - ;o)
Noone cares about the fake restrictions the GOVT put on drones. NOOONE cares expect those who live in constant fear OR need the part 107 for licensing or contract work. Dont be a sheeple.
One thing I remember about all the drones I've had is they are effected by wind. All aircraft are, the main thing to remember is to not go very far down wind . You can tell easily when you get to altitude. the drones will fly fast down wind but very slow into the wind. Its not a big problem but is something to be aware of.
I use mine for surveillance when I hear something a couple miles down the road, it's faster than going in the truck. I have an old cell phone dedicated to it and does not require cell service or Wi-Fi. Just being able to see the whole area from 2000 ft up is amazing...Potensic Atom 4K
Drone are great for surveillance and recon. Two things to remember. One drones are not that silent. I'm familiar now to tat buzzing sound. Second, head winds and gust. Make sure you know just how strong your drone can go against the wind. A gps tag is also helpful.
Great views! Caught the sale, thanks. This will be my 3rd. 2 for the children, entry level, mid level. This will be great to get a fly over our 11 acres
I fpv all the the time fast / slow . I know this Roku to be a great entry drone for around the Farm surveillance. Great video and very informative Dave 🇺🇸
ANYTHING to do with flight thrills me. My mother had a distant relative who was in the US Airfare at the same time I was in my late Teens. He was a Captain, and I was a mere Airman. My Mother got him in contact with me and I got a ride in an F-4. He took us up to the Aircfrat's Ceiling. Though still well within the Atmosphere, we were so high that we could see the Curvature of the Earth. I can 'almost' say that I have seen my World from Space. It was SO beautiful that the only thing that even comes close is my Wife, LOL!
I've actually thought of building an inexpensive rate of control plane or one of those little helicopters and putting on a tiny camera. The difference is that a plane only provides straight flight but for me personally I think it would be less confusing than a drone and you can put radio control stuff together very very cheaply nowadays as long as you're not looking for some fancy super realistic replica in any case I think it's a great tool for patrolling the neighborhood or doing recon around you rather than you having to travel by foot or bike or by vehicle around your neighborhood
That is a beautiful area, I think the mountains are part of the Appalachian range but not sure . I've been all over the NC and Virginia parts of the Appalachian range but not the SC parts of it. I've also been around many parts of SC but only a distant portin of this area. That is if Im correct. Im probably 100 miles away, never the less where ever this may be it is absolutely beautiful. God bless and thank you for all you have done and all you do.
I've been looking at drones thinking that I'd really like to have one simply to use to be able to see what's happening on the highway near our property in a SHTF situation without having to go out there in person. This one is a bit fancier & more expensive than what I've been looking at. I don't need great pics just a clear view & decent battery life. Hoping someone who knows about drones, I know nothing, will post some good options.
I recommend the sub 250 gram drones. Not required to register with the FAA. Plus they are quieter, easier to transport and a bit more stealthy for patrolling your property.
Gosh you live in a beautiful place, you're very lucky. The aerial footage really highlights how it might be wise to have your home camouflaged in the event of a shtf event.
The Good News: The Lord Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day and shed his blood for the forgiveness of all sins for all who believe! Get saved today if you aren't already! The Gospel: 1 Cor. 15: 1-4 KJV. Other verses: Romans 3: 23 and 25 KJV, Romans 10: 9-10 KJV, Ephesians 2: 8-10 KJV and Ephesians 4: 30-32 KJV. Have a blessed day everyone!!!
If you use it to check on your property and animals. Is it necessary to be outside to operate it? If you are next to a large building, for example, a barn or trees is your operational area affected? How usefull are they in low light conditions when you may need to find the cow.
As far as having to take the phone out of case, go down to Walmart and get a prepaid cell phone and just don't activate it. They are $30-$40 and I use them as cheap digital cameras, baby monitor cameras, and GPS. At least with android just link your google account to phone and anytime you are connected to WiFi it will sinc. Plus all cell phones have to be able to call 911 activated or not.
They are all pretty user friendly unless you're building some crazy sport FPV thing. Basically all have the same controls and start up procedure, and they are starting to integrate the tech into the helis and it's great. So easy to fly!
I've recently upgraded my coms and was wondering what cb channels you monitor the most, and if your cb handle is southern prepper 1, I'm curious if my base station can reach you. Thanks.
I got mine before the FAA Remote ID was implimented. If they can track it they can find you and they can shut it down. If I were buying one today I would build rather than buy.
Good recommendation, SouthernPrepper1. ... Obviously, the Drone would be an asset in some business applications. Plus, anyone moving to a new location could better 'see' the neighborhood, before they buy property. [A person might not want to live near an illegal MoonShining Outfit, back in the Appalachian Hills.]
Be careful to stay above established roads. Drone hunting season is a very important right in some communities. Also, it isn't a good idea to get off on the wrong foot in the new neighborhood.
That would be a useful security tool on the Southern Border to track all the "stuff" going on down there. Why would the average person need their own personal drone? It seems that many of the prepping channels I subscribe to have moved more into marketing demonstrations than anything else lately.
Dave, have you looked at any other drones? Just curious. I want to get one, but want to do some research. Funny story, my son, being a teenager, threw his keys on a roof at his school. School wouldn't help, I told him to find someone with a drone, and that worked. 🤣That's not why I want a drone as my son learned his lesson.
You may want to know that Federal law changed a few months ago and you must register your drone with the FAA and put a transponder in it. Don't get thrown in jail and fined thousands of dollars for not doing this. And it does not matter that you do it only on your own property. If you fly without this then you must go to a Federally approved location to fly your drone. This is because of what they are used for in Ukraine that has the govt scared.
