    My understanding of track stand after some research is to keep a constant pressure on the front feet against the bike’s tendency to roll back. I just don’t get how to make the bike roll back when doing track stand.

    • @a2bbiking
      @a2bbiking  Год назад +72

      You don't necessarily have to be rolling back, I often find that stopping and engaging my back brake (or both), then keeping pressure against the braking of your bike works well!

    • @vuway-
      @vuway- Год назад +4

      It's the angle of the wheel and how you position your weight, try tilting the frame until it makes contact with your leg in the same direction you turn the wheel, experiment how much weight you hang over your bars or behind

    • @alimantado373
      @alimantado373 Год назад +2

      You need to roll back as well when doing track stands, best practise is to do it on an incline, makes you much better on flat ground.

    • @Hecker9974
      @Hecker9974 Год назад

      I have no idea how the mechanics of it work or how to explain it but out of never wanting to touch the ground while at stop lights I've managed to do perfect track stands for quite some minutes so far

    • @jansmejkal8088
      @jansmejkal8088 Год назад +1

      You don't need to, but to roll back you load your body to the front, then move to the back and just when you reach the "end" you Ou let off the brake. It's like doing a stoppy and right at the landing you let off the brake, but not earlier. This pushes you backwards for a few meters.

    Another piece of advice from a fellow trackstander (mainly on fixed, but also on bikes that can freewheel) : A good place to begin practising trackstands is somewhere with a very slight gradient. Have your front wheel towards the gradient. This is what I find to be the easiest way to find that 'sense of balance' while rolling back. Of course, relying on this method isn't the best; practising trackstands in a variety of places that are safe for trackstanding is ideal. Also, having your master leg forward should help.

After a while, you’ll be able to pull off one handed trackstands with ease and impress your friends. Here is a bonus tip: if you are looking into trials riding from dirt bikes to bicycles, this is a very good tip for nailing the sport!

    I'm a track stand guru. The trick is to point your wheel up the slope of the road so you can roll back or pedal forward. The slightest incline is enough to hold perfectly still. If it is really flat or you're going downhill, the front brake and solid balance is key.

    track standing also helps a ton when adjusting and navigating some sketch tech lines.
    I gotta use it alot for north shore type features since im tall and i ride a massive bike, some of the turns just dont work with my frame geometry and i end up having to track stand and then scoot and hop the bike into position.

    I just don't use clips 👀 and track standing has been around forever. Trial bike riders do it flawlessly 👌easiest way to learn is up against a wall so you can just lean the bars up if you go off balance and keep your feel in the pedals then do a recovery jolt back to upright

    Like i sometimes when i use used to ride my bike
    I never had the balls to curve while doing a big turn like on a curve...
    It gave me the chills always when i had to go onto a scenario with a curve on a trail that needed you to either slow down like a old grandma or to literally tilt almost like motorbike racist- Racers****
    So the tiny movement usually was so hard to control after a turn to get back straight
    So practising to counter push the weight/controlling the bike kinda helps
