9:31 "ooh, that's a cool rock." My favorite part of the entire video. Really goes to show you no matter how different our lives may be from each other we are all the same inside. When we see a cool rock, we pick it up.
As a professional hiking and trekking guide, i must say: you are a perfect example of an ideal camp partner. Love for ramen and knows where to put the tent bags. 10/10, would join on a tour.
I've been in Kingman about two years now. I've learned that Summer (from May to... October?) is "Missing Hiker Found Dead Season." Obviously you've survived, but keep that in mind if any of you go hiking in the American Southwest.
Im really looking forward to see how Milo is by the end of the trip. Either super efficient after becoming familiar with his setup. Or totally disgruntled and in disarray and fighting every single part of his gear.
My trial and error has taught me that leaving a groudcloth protrude from underneath a tent allows it to collect water and pool it in the floor of your tent; which I can see isn't likely a problem there but someplace like where I am in Puget Sound then rains frequently come and go during the wee hours. I know your not asking for my input but maybe I can save you from a wet sleeping bag so thought I would mention it. All the best...
Milo - My first real backpacking excursion was to Isle Royale in Lake Superior. I used a Sterno stove. To purify water to drink, I needed to boil the water for several minutes. I wish I had tried the stove out first. Get a better stove. Your first day on this "vlog" and your official channel are starting off good - great camera work (hats off to the DP). Try to keep Mythra shiny side up. Keep 'em coming.

I would look into area 4x4 clubs and look at the overlanding community for ideas or something called the Backcountry Discovery Routes (google it). Insane jealously isn't good for you. Getting out there is good for your mental health. (Also don't take Milo's day 2 vlog too seriously. There are more good days than bad out there.)
Milo, I hope you know that, in everything you do, you are so engaging, relatable and just all around delightful. Never change and I wish you all the best in this and all future adventures, on and off camera!
I would love to see an equipment and gear video, both early on and then at the end to see what you did and didnt like, what you wished you had instead, things like that

My man out here with a camera pointed at himself standing in a location he traveled to specifically to make a video for content, coming to terms with the crushing realization that he is both a vlogger and a content creator. Just wait until the day someone calls you an influencer, Milo.
Just a quick editing note for future videos: Use crossfade transitions for the audio tracks! There's a very prominent audible clicking whenever a cut happens if it isn't done properly (especially when there's a lot of noise like wind)! :3
You should totally put everything inside your tent because of wildlife, and dust. But I am so jealous. I roadtrip in a minivan with my dog, but haven't been able to in about a decade. Seems like it's time to go mini van shopping.
I want to watch all of these because the amount of effort put into them is crazy. As a fellow motorcycler, too, I feel responsible for watching as if I can somehow help from miles away and from the future! 😂 Thank you for everything you do, Milo! You're an inspiration to a lot of people!
I had not planned to find myself crouched over a Sterno can in the desert today, while Milo rooted through available lingerie in his tent-bag, but it all feels right somehow..
Welcome to New Mexico, where if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. I dunno how much of your plans are already planned, but you should come by the Turquoise Trail. I might recommend something like a side car or hitch for your next project like this. It *might* lessen the likelihood of toppling into another riverbed because of the counter weight and extra wheel. Also might give you more space for extra fuel, water, etc. Purely a guess, because i have no license and have never been allowed to do any sort of outdoorsy shit. I have led a very boring and lacking 38 years.
😂😂😂 I miss camping. And, this was fun to watch! Sorry I laughed at your difficulties, but as an old camper (yes... I am quite old), I enjoyed the flashback moments from when I thought I had it all handled. 😁❤️ Looking forward to watching your adventure from the comfort of my home. 😁👍
Milo, great start to will be an awesome series! It's awesome out there! I grew up in the west and haven't been back in a long time. I will point out that most expeditions start with setting up your equipment to make sure you know how it works and if you need anything. Like tongs! But you seem to be doing well! Thanks for the video!
I’m stupid. I was so confused as to why I could only find the video through the community post on miniminuteman and only now have I realized that it’s because it’s on a different channel. Anyway, really exited for this series
A: this makes me miss long distance backpacking. B: this reminds me how much I do NOT miss crawling about 3-legged like a dark souls titanite demon trying to set a tent up in the snow with a broken foot.
All your other videos have been with the blackboard in the background… Except for like your entire Göbekli Tepe trip, your meet up with Brad Hafford, that time you shot a slingshot…😜
This is the dream holy moly, i'm currently studying archeology and whenever im finished ill be going out to do this in my country. It seems like so much fun holy fk
