- This is Part 2 of the Tamiya Mustang GT4 Build Series on the TT-02 Chassis! For Part 2 we are going to build out the spur gear with the optional hop up aluminum propeller joints and add the aluminum propeller shaft. We will also be installing full ball bearings along the way. I have built the TT-02 Chassis before, but this time we are adding a number of Hop Up items. I actually really like this chassis as it's very easy to upgrade. Throughout this series I'll give you some tips and tricks to help you with your build.
Looking good Freddy! Definetely need to build one of TT chassies from Tamiya some time👍
Thanks Peter! It’s definitely a fun one to put together.
I'm actually build a TT-02 also. I got the Subaru Impreza Monte-Carlo '99 last year and still haven't finished it. lol I've completed the chassis but have bought more hop-ups to install. I still have to paint the body and apply the decals like the box art. It's taken so long because I've been building a Traxxas Trx4 Sport Kit and an Axial Scx10ii all at the same time.
I also added the same upgrades as you while I was building the chassis. This is my first Tamiya build so I'm learning about the TT-02 as I go. lol
That’s a really nice looking one. I keep looking at that as well but they also came out with the Mexico version on the TT-01E. So I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. But sounds like you have your hands full for sure!
@@jamesplymire5342 this time around I wanted to add the upgrades as I went along. I’m getting there. I’ll be uploading more videos of the progress soon!
@@jamesplymire5342 welcome to Tamiya! I actually really like this chassis as there are a lot of upgrades available for it.
on step 4, my gear isn't snapping in, and I haven't a clue why. I am using the correct parts but it isn't snapping.
So just so we are on the same page the GB2 isn't snapping onto C5? Is there anything obstructing the GB2 part? Some extra plastic or something has got inside of it...just trying to think of anything that could be causing that.
@FastFreddyRC that is correct. I don't see anything in the way, is it important that they snap on?
@@FastFreddyRC I have another kit sitting around. I just grabbed the pieces from that, and it seemed to work just fine. Still odd though. Thank you!
@@justrylan084weird. Ok don’t worry about it. It really doesn’t matter…might just be a looser fit. Once it’s all screwed down and the gear cover is on etc it won’t make any difference. Everything will still work great.
@@justrylan084 Ok well that's good. It may just be that one of the pieces, either the gear itself or the shaft (but I'm guessing the gear) didn't mold completely right and some may be a looser fit than others. So as much as you're supposed to snap them on some may be just a much looser fit.
