How much does it cost to attend?

The above video was recorded at the Berlin Buckler Bouts, which are for free. Then there are training weekends organized by clubs or schools that hire me, and participation fees would vary, I guess. Finally, there are classes that I offer, such as this: www.patreon.com/posts/shield-classes-7155643

BTW how much Polish are You? :) Your last name sounds really Polish, I even had a classmate with same last name as Yours (at least written the same way, I don't know how you pronounce it in German). But then we had been neighbours for more than 1000 years so we got a lot of Miller (Müller in German), Weiss and other Germanic last names and their families were Polish for generations... just curious :)

My family originates from Silesia. The family name is indeed a Polish one, but I do not know when it was adopted. I only know about the last three generations, and they were all German.

Similar to the Art of War and its applications for business, I would be intrigued to look deeper at these fundamentals and their parallels to domains outside the realm of traditional sparring. p.s. Great video and excellent channel!

So that's what it was, step one... When i first started hema, about 2 years ago, the very idea of finally being able to use a sword was enough to get me smiling like a child, besides i found it so much fun i was kinda able to overcome my instructor (granted he was going slow on me, as i was a novice), and forcing him to get more serious. Now as i know more and more, i have begun to get more technical, and much more critical with what i do, and lost a bit of that hero pose i started with. The result is now i feel i get hit more often than i did before. I will have to try that first step next time, but i believe you have just granted me the key of what was wrong with me all this time.

Interesting. Let me know if it actually works for you, please.

Roland Warzecha It kinda worked, but i was a bit sloppy on the combats i had. No wonder though, it has been a month without practice, so i needed to clean off some of the rust i had. Also i need to get used to it and make it a part of me, just a couple of hits made me lose my focus and got extremely tilted, so i started making mistakes and getting hit even more. But i blame that on the holidays. I'll keep trying, i still believe this can work

I really like that the hema guys make so much thoughts about all this stuff... The kung fu guys all over the world should do the same

Signal to noise ratio is actually no different in either community, as far as I can tell. The main difference with the average HEMA Joe may be that he is well aware that there is nobody who knows the truth: Everything is based on surviving source material that is being interpreted, all combat systems are mere reconstructions. So the good thing about not having a line of tradition is that you are encouraged to ask questions and think things over yourself.

Great advice - in my opinion most of which could be easily generalized to any competitive sport activity

Is there any videos of this guy or his students actually fight? I am not practitioner myself but I have watched plenty of HEMMA fights to say that almost nothing of what he is talking about happen in their sparrings

Apparently the Tower of London had (have?), in addition of some obscure manuscript, combination bucklers with a pistol as the central grip, so nothing should be excluded!
And then jump a couple of century after I:33 and you have Michael Hundt ending his book with the hundredth stück which is pretty much "carry a pistol with your sword and if need be just shoot them".
What do you mean people are here for fencing lessons?
