I may not be the greatest tap dancer in the world, but I still have fun and this scene makes me wanna dig out my tap dancing shoes and click my heart out! This will forever be one of my favorite Christmas movies!
The Polar Express is without a doubt my favorite Christmas movie ever, including the hot chocolate scene, but my favorites with hot chocolate are with cookies or cinnamon rolls on the side. ☕️🍪🎄
The waiters and chefs were everything in this movie. Without injuring themselves or others, they’ve sacrificed their lives w/ the backflips, the splits, and everything to make the train ride more enjoyable for the kids and for the audience to make this movie entertaining. Props to the dancers who played the waiters and chefs in the film, we appreciate u guys for making our childhood and our Christmas easy, even on this day 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@@nostalgiajumper0233 You must not have watched how they filmed this scene, nga. They did a few moves to create all this. They didn’t do all the actual moves lol. The chefs and the backflips weren’t real at all, that part was entirely animation and zero motion capture. No life and limb was sacrificed lol. Your comment was pretty ridiculous 😂😂
@@nostalgiajumper0233 I think its impressive AF that the mocap actors actually did the real motion of doing a backflip while pouring a drink into a cup! such showmanship!!!
This movie truly deserves the Broadway treatment you don't even know. Not a small stage play presented at schools but a full on live Broadway musical. They were able to put "Frozen" on Broadway and "Polar Express" definitely deserves that treatment next. I know Broadway would absolutely do a very *magical* job with this movie. Especially this musical number in particular. This movie in general just *screams* Seasonal Broadway Show. BTW I just love that the animators added in the little cup of hot cocoa right under the seat at (1:36). For which the girl put under in order to give it to Billy as we saw earlier. It's pretty easy to miss and the animators could've easily just left it out. But it's little details like that that makes this movie truly amazing. ☺️👍💞☕
Yeah I never thought of that, this show would be fire on Broadway especially this number! Oh that would be awesome! Brian D'Arcy James would make a pretty good train Conductor too I think.
Give me my robe, slippers and a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows and 2% milk to cool it off and this movie for Christmas and I will love you till the day I die classic scene and one of my favorite Christmas movies I watch it every year
Totally awesome performance and so cool that the waiters and chefs do tricks, sing, and dance. Also I think Tom Hanks did an awesome job as the conductor
I don't care what anyone says, I adore this movie, everything about it, and THIS SCENE IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! First time I saw it back in the day, my jaw was on the floor! The music, the dancing, Tom Hanks having SUCH a good time! Makes me want to get up and dance!
Its sad to write this.....but this was me and my father's favorite Christmas movie to watch. He loved the little black girl singing and he always made a big deal about it when Christmas time was coming.......sigh it sucks that i dont have that anymore but he's with Jesus the real reason for the season. Happier than ever, so there's that. I love you, Daddy.
If you ever watch the Polar Express at Christmas or heck any other time of the year, it's always a must to make hot chocolate and then when this part plays you get it out
My 5th grade school field trip movie from December 2004 I remember we watched this at the movie theater when it first came out now I’m 31 this brings back memories when I was 11 watching with my 5th grade class that year really love Polar Express if only it was free to watch on RUclips I would watch it but have to pay
Hot chocolate started being served at 1:09 and the last cup was cleared at 1:59, that's a 50 second window and I don't think that's enough for me. Given the size of the mugs, I think I could only drink 2 cups at most in that time frame which is a waste because that hot chocolate looks bomb.
Guys in 2nd grade we watched the polar express my 2nd grade teacher made us some hot chocolate and then we got us some blankets some of my classmates went to sleep but it was great
You know, the fact that they refilled the cups, makes me think that they’re going from the back to the front of the train, ready to hand it out to the other passengers.
Out of the thirteen people working on the 10, of them just dance and give hot chocolate for like 40 seconds before taking it away and then the cease to exist. Interesting.
All their dead expressions make it a crisismas classic.
I’m literally js laughing at the goofy ahh round off back handsprings/back walkovers on the chairs
i was about to comment this, i never realized as a kid they looked so robotic lol
they're just that professional
Can we talk about how cool it is that they used the trains chuffing sound in the beginning to slowly build up anticipation for the song?
Just noticed it. good ears
I could be wrong, but I feel like that they may have taken inspiration from Rock Island from the Music Man.
Because of this scene, I cannot stop making chocolate milk ever since... with cinnamon! Favorite scene ever!
We had to sell the chocolate milk due to budget cuts.
What happened to Christmas? Same thing.
I'm allergic to cinnamon
But there’s only one rule….never ever let it cool
Wait. With Cinnamon? I never tried it that way, I might as well try it out
Im drinking mine with caramel rn.
This is why I love The Polar Express
For me, it’s 120 reasons.
anyone notice they gave them boys all of like 5 seconds to drink that second cup
Movie time is always never constant, 30 seconds goes on for 1 minute, and it was probably longer.
Never ever let it cool
If you look, you’ll notice all the cups are still full 😂
@@user-po1ndx73r that makes me believe that they are taking it to the next car to give to those passengers.

Gosh cinnamon rolls, i love those
Well they asked for refreshments. No snacks. Just hot beverages.
Same this movie is very special to me
I like the attention to detail,Like how you can see the cup under the bench when the Conductor drops down
I never realized 😂. Neat

0:20 When he asked the children if they were in need of refreshment, was he calling the waiters and when they heard the children they came in?
probably he was using a speaker to get the childrens attention and when he opened the door the waiters knew to come in or something like that

This is honestly the highlight of the film for me.

If you ever watch the Polar Express at Christmas or heck any other time of the year, it's always a must to make hot chocolate and then when this part plays you get it out
The book said, “We drank hot cocoa as thick and rich as melted chocolate bars.”
There's a book about this?
Then boiling hot chocolate spills on the kids faces as the dancers dance on the tables enthusiastically
A classic
Personally, my favourite part is the tap dancing of the waiters. The choreography of them and that they add to the beat. 🎶
TBH, this movie is nostalgic for me as a kid, but while I don’t like it anymore, this scene is truly iconic.
The Best Scene in The Polar Express.
I like the part where the conductor does the moonwalk! 5 years after this movie, we would lose the inventor of that cool dance!
