Scott Harris, Executive Director of University Museums, sits down with Dr. Joanne Freeman for a conversation examining the political relationship between James Monroe and Alexander Hamilton, including the scandalous Reynolds Affair that took the two statesmen to the brink of a duel.
In addition to exchanges with Scott Harris, Dr. Freeman fielded questions from the Museum’s 2019-20 Bowley Scholars, Ethan Knick and Cody Youngblood, who brought relevant documents from the Museum’s collection to discuss.

I have to admit, as a historian myself, I was freaking out while watching this and seeing the way the artifacts (papers) were being handled. Nonetheless, a very interesting interview and, as always, a wonderful wealth of information from Prof. Freeman.
