It is short for "University of Mary Washington" the University that owns our Museum!
James Monroe is my new favorite president I’m glad this lecture is still going.

WONT YOU SHOW THE REAL BLACK HISTORY OF THE Rappahannock Indian!
When I was a child we used to dig in the woods and fields off the end of Hook Road off of Folly Neck Road in Warsaw, right near the Totusky Creek. We found some arrowheads but the old farmer who owned the property told me his grandfather said it was an important site. The guy who owned Warsaw Supermarket had a huge collection of arrow ans spearheads mounted to the walls.
Personal honor in politics today....... sound effects: long loud laughter.
And plenty of smh too.
Thanks for posting. Can you elaborate on your contention that is was "JQA and other cabinet members" that worked with Monroe to develop the Doctrine? All of the biographies I've read of JQA, Monroe, Calhoun and Wirt seem to indicate that it was JQA who was the innovator of the idea. Thanks.
I have to admit, as a historian myself, I was freaking out while watching this and seeing the way the artifacts (papers) were being handled. Nonetheless, a very interesting interview and, as always, a wonderful wealth of information from Prof. Freeman.
Agree.
Love your video of how wood inlay is done. I did not know how, so your demonstration was informative and fun! It is quite amazing how time consuming it must have been to do that small inlay in Monroe's beautiful piano forte. Now I appreciate the craftsmanship so much more.
Excellent and informative conversation regarding the Virginia Dynasty that greatly impacted the formative years of our nation!
Shit guys, thanks for coming out for this
GRATITUD TO THE ""Great Family ""

Really great information. Sorry I missed it live. Glad you're doing these chats every week.
I'm glad to hear it played! Are you playing from a score from that time period? Ha ha ha...Deck the Halls gave me the answer.
Loved this book!
Thank you Chief Anne and Chief Wallace!
Thanks to both chiefs for a great discussion about their unique leadership situations.
Wonderful video!
Great video!
Thank you, Chief Anne and Chief Wallace.
Love these insights, lectures of this insight, about our country, SHOULD be required learning in our schools. Teaches how fragile we started...and how appreciative we should be of those who helped us get where we are now, even though nothing is perfect.
Omg I love this woman. She is so fun and makes history of 200 years ago relevant in today's time. So fun!!!
Amazing interview and information!!!!
Excellent program!
Must ❤️👍
The portrayal of Monroe standing behind Washington in the Leutze painting (Washington crossing the Delaware) is pure fiction. He did not travel in the same boat as Washington.
He was injured so yeah I think they did that cause he was friends with Washington
I'm absorbing this information like a sponge. Thanks so much!
Incredible! Yes! Thanks for this.
:D
Hello, I am the admin for the Wicocomico Nation Descendants Association. I was just curious if there has ever been any digs in our territory? I know about the Coan Hall dig, but was hoping there was more. And your Gunstocker story made me want to ask if you could look into our last Chief, William Taptico jr... thanks
This is why they always call me Post Alone!
President Monroe was my great, great uncle.

Great piece, Scott....hope you, staff and families stay safe and keep healthy...
Nice speech. Starts off pretty weird though
James Monroe - the last president during First Party System era, the last president who wore powdered wig, tricorne hat and knee breeches, the last who was never photographed, the last Founding Father and Revolutionary war veteran who became president, the last President who was elected unopposed etc etc ....
James Madison was NOT bald. This actor looks much more like John Adams. James Monroe looks OK. During the time when he did not wear a powdered wig, he really had his own hair like this, tied behind in a queue.
Nice username fucking freak
I like it, thank you.
Don't you mean Washington's Birthday? Technically there's no federal holiday called President's Day.
I like James Monroe.
