Woah!! How were you able to collab with such a super rad ultra-cooldude? He sure seems cool. Whoever he is. Thanks for having me on though. Let's do it again sometime!
The main reason shotguns on heavy are so unfathomably good is that shotguns don't consist entirely around aim like most weapons, but rather _positioning_ . Think of It like this: Imagine an AR user which takes 2 seconds to kill enemies meets a Shotty user which two-shots at close range and three-shots at mid range. You'd think to yourself _"The shotty user should win on closed spaces/corners and hallways, and the AR user should win on big, free spaces"_ , but why exactly? There are _two_ key factors to this: *Counting* and *Chasing* . *Counting* , what i like to call It, is the "You miss, you die" thing that comes up so often when It comes to shotguns and sniper rifles, but on Autos, though, that's outta the picture. See, on big spaces, the AR user has ton of room to dodge, and so does the Shotty user from them, HOWEVER, every single Shotty blast can change the fight entirely and take a massive chunk of HP, while the AR user can just spray a mag, with each miss being no more than a nuisance. On *CLOSED* spaces, however, there is no room for either to properly dodge, leaving both much more vulnerable, while missing with the shotgun is just a laughable skill issue at that point, and the AR user dies since they have almost twice the kill time. *Chasing* , what i like to call It, is how close the Shotty user can get to the Assault Rifler without dying. It's exactly why Scouting was (and still to this day) so often associated with nose-kissing range weapons throughout a big chunk of First-Person Gaming history. While the Scout has little defense tools in his Unlocks, he's *_SPEEDY_* , and while the *_-FATASS-_* Heavy is so slow, It takes an entire army (or fully-charged headshot/backstab) to take him down quickly. And what unites most, if not *_ALL_* TF2 Shotty users altogether is the sheer amount of sharp corners in most maps.

heavy's shotguns are actually decent. Being able to shoot without having to rev up or lower your movement speed is amazing. The shotgun can actually out-damage the minigun initially because it doesn't have to rev up.
I agree and not only that but the ability to conceal your location while providing that needed burst damage around corners since smart enemies know the minigun lacks that is a godsend it's not a bad choice at all and it really does shine as a secondary for finishing off targets I've always seen the shotgun as a secondary for heavy where you use it while pushing and killing people in your way and then using your minigun to clean up house when you need to defend an area or get an area secured it's beautiful and it's a different thought process to most but hey I guess most people just prefer to be a healing man although shotguns shouldn't go overlooked unless you are a panic attack because the spread makes it's burst unreliable past the minigun's range
Going from turret mode heavy to fat scout and charging the enemy point ALWAYS scared my enemies they never see it coming and don't know how to avoid blowing themselves up with self damage or remember to stay on the point to prevent capture.

If by chance The Medic was given a shotgun as an alternative to his Syringe Guns, then it would give a whole new meaning to the Battle Medic playstyle. Personally, I think The Medic could have a Pistol, just with some tweaks exclusive to Medic.
The Shotgun is not bad for the Heavy, it has it's uses: More mobility You don't have to rev it up Is useful with the Brass Beast due to the slow movement and slow rev up Useful with the Huo-Long Heater when you want to save ammo It can be used when flanking or when you're trying to be silent
Giving medic shotguns could have interesting results. On the one hand, medic would be able to defend himself better than ever before, which could upset the balance of the game. On the other hand, medic already has the Crusader's Crossbow, which is arguably better than the shotgun due to it giving him the ability to rapidly heal teammates from well outside the range of his medigun and deal substantial damage at range. It would definitely boost the Medic's playercount by making him more fun to use in a casual setting. It might also be interesting if his syringe guns were turned into shotguns.
9:14 I've been using stock Heavy for quite a while, and i found the shotgun to be reliable If you fight against Demomans, Soldiers and even scouts! And that's the cause of heavy being so slow with his minigun active, which by the way, has a slow activation speed, there's multiple situations where i would be a dead Man, wouldt It be for the shotgun. But then again, the edibles still outshines the shotguns because of their support like rolê value.
I had an idea that could make the Shotguns better for Heavy. Just add this stat: On kill with Shotgun: +10% Faster minigun rev speed. It could go up to 30% faster, but you need 3 shotgun kills. If that's too OP just make it increase by +5% instead.
Really cool video, very nice job on the editing a sfm bits. Also, 11:00 God just imagining spy with the shotgun is terrifying, that would be incredibly OP, guess it goes to show just how good the shotgun is, lol.
You forgot to mention that the shotgun is also really good on heavy when moving around. Sometimes it is better to pump some leqd into an immediate threat rather than trying to rev up your minigun. This isn't so much a problem with the tomislav due to its near instant rev up but is an absolute godsend on the brass beast.
Damn, your editing skills are improving a notch :o Also some extra notes with the shotgun soldier: In a less common scenario regarding the soldier with the shotgun vs soldier with the gunboats: the shotgun gives ya a distinct advantage over the other soldier who's using the gunboats provided if he doesn't get the bomb on ya beforehand. Gunboats soldiers have to use 1 or 2 rockets to ambush someone then the other 2 rockets to finish you off and rocket jump away to the moon, against shotgun soldiers, they have no other option than to reload-fire spam and hope for the best, strife around you or run away entirely. More often than enough, it gives the finishing blow to almost any gunboat soldiers and wins the fight in almost every situation possible. It's a shame that the shotgun for the soldier is critically underused due to other secondary weapons in his arsenal but hey, love it or hate it, it's great regardless.
One thing to note about Soldier is that the escape plan can be a sort of substitute for the gunboats, since after you lose health from rocket jumps you can use the speed boost to quickly get to a health pack to replenish. Although the gunboats do a superior job at this, it does make room for a shotgun.
Its always nice to pull this thing out whenever your beggars runs dry in the middle of your robot murdering spree, firing a shotgun into a huge crowd of metal mercenaries knowing its borderline impossible for you to miss feels GREAT
