Too many conflicts, too many deployments!
Nothing new here. The AF is always in a feast and famine cycle.
When I started in 75 after Vietnam there was an overage and they were giving guy early outs and ground assignments. By 1980 when I got out there was a shortage and they were begging guys to stay in. My dad was in from 44-66 and he went through the same cycles. The cycle will continue because it’s all the AF knows and they don’t change.
