This is a short standalone DLC adventure that's just been released for How Fish Is Made, a freaky fishy horror game I covered a year ago (linked at the end of this video). It's possibly the weirdest take on the Katamari Damacy gameplay I've ever encountered (and Katamari Damacy was pretty weird in the first place!)
You know those old flash games where you're a little fish and you gotta eat smaller fish to progressively get bigger? Yea that but with more existential dread.
seems like it's a game about pulling people into things, for better or for worse. the bandaged person says so outright. very interesting, and seeing him in the hospital at the end, with the mouthwash and everything, too. i wonder if it's his story specifically.
According to the Steam description for Mouthwashing (which this DLC seems to be a big ad for,) he's a space captain who tried to commit suicide while taking his crew with him. So it makes sense.
I think that fish at the end has a real life parasite that goes into the mouth of the fish, eats the fish's tongue and then latches on and eats whatever the fish eats until the fish starves. There is another fish that will eat the parasite straight out of that fish's mouth, tohugh.
Yep! That's an isopod! He was in the original "How Fish Is Made" game, and he does a wee musical number on the nature of parasites, meat and... I guess the condition of eating or being eaten? Whatever. Markiplier played the game and was utterly horrified through the musical part- because there's closeups of fish eggs and twitching meat and such. So, viewer discretion is advised.
Yknow im excited about the sequel/successor of sorts at the end Maybe it would explain the whole environment or the concept of up or down i donno but im excited nonetheless
I'm somewhat reminded of MAD GOD by Phil Tippett, oddly enough. I wasn't expecting to see a human in this game, albeit skinless and bandaged. I wonder just what this boat was doing. Ten years on a boat? And what happened to the guy to leave him so maimed? And what's the deal with the mouthwash??

You know, when I said to myself "Man, I wish there were more games like Katamari", this wasn't exactly what I was imagining
This seemed kinda fishy for some reason, but the mc seemed perfectly willing to just roll with it.

It's like, "what if Katamari Damacy was as horrifying visually as it is conceptually?"
Despite it's atmosphere, these games make me feel at ease by the end of them

Is it scary? Maybe not. Is it weird as hell and absurd? Yes. First one was a bit funnier though.
