I have been to this spot. I can confirm EVERYTHING this man said! I would’ve never sent you there Chime and I’m sorry all them aunties directed you here!
💯this place is the worst. I had one of my worst restaurant experiences here the service, the food, everything I would never recommend this place. I’m not even black and I can cook soul food better than them.
The one thing ive learned is people will tell u there restaurant is the one to go to because of personal attachments, but that doesn’t mean the food is good
@@JamesTheTurnbullNot everybody can travel for food though as it takes a lot of money to travel. I travel for food as I'll literally take a day off to travel and have a day trip or weekend trip. When I was younger, I traveled the world for food as I lived in Germany but been to China, France, Netherlands, Amsterdam, Thailand, Japan, Laos, Hawaii and a lot of other places before settling in the US. Now, there's work as bills has to be paid and I'm not a RUclipsr influencer getting paid to make videos. Hotels are also very expensive as the last time I traveled, Austin, Texas, the hotel was almost $400 a night. Well, after tax, it was over $400 a night. I'm planning a huge trip to Vegas later this year as I've never been so we'll see how good their foods are.
A lot of restaurants don’t season their food cus customers be complaining it’s too salty/spicy so they let them season to taste with the shakers on the table or packets. At least that’s what I’ve observed in Michigan. Even the breakfast diners don’t season their eggs and potatoes.
Thought I’ve been losing it lately, every time I go out shit tastes like bland ass and I’ve lost interest in take out or eating out whatsoever because everything tastes like nothing.
Igght. I can respect much of the scores but imma say this. The turkey leg was "just alright". Blud said it was Horrible in the title. 🤣 That's crazy bro. Chime you gotta balance out them titles they're starting to lean into bait my guy. Like I'd be expecting old food or something spoiled not just mid. You gotta be careful with that, it can effect the business.
bruh, you can change your opinion later on, it's a thing. especially when everything went "mid-bitch" after those wings, for the price they underperformed, dont defend bullshit.
@@UltimateGamerCC See that's the thing. I'm not defending the food. Shit looks mid to me. But people be swinging the hammer way too far to one end or the other. People's opinions can change, but it seems drastic to say yeah those fries were mid at 1pm and then say infact they were horrible at 8pm.
Sick and tired of these restaurants charging these prices and not seasoning their food. They are saving money because they don’t use seasonings. I’m glad I know how to cook because it’s getting ridiculous. On top of wanting tips.
You had no reviews from the actual city of Detroit. Looks like you stayed on the outskirts in the suburbs. You missed Sooooooooooooo many mom and pop; brick and mortar restaurants. Just going Downtown to review, by far 2 of the oldest Coney Islands in the Nation. American Coney Island & Lafayette Coney Island. Man, you dropped the ball on this one.
If I see anymore large stuffed turkey legs, grilled lamb chops, or stuffed salmon. Goodness gracious!!! I can’t blame the restaurants though; the freaking consumers act like it’s a rite of passage to eating out. But that turkey leg didn’t look too hot. The gravy and rice just doesn’t look up to par to me. And that looks like a beautifully fried pork chop-almost like a piece of Popeyes chicken lol. Very different. Too bad they missed the flavor mark.
You didn't even go to the New Conant Street Grille. Next time you come to Detroit and actually, Detroit, you have to place the suggestion call-out video like you have done with other cities. We would have guided you to the right light.
Before you even went in on the Mac 😅I saw it not Mac ing! 🤦🏽♀️ and the fact the cabbage 🥬 was cooked to perfection, I can look at it and tell it was bland AsF! 😢and I love cabbage
I could have told you to pass on Lillie Mae's. It used to be under a different name (Sweet Magnolia's) a few years back and it's BEEN garbage imo. Would have never told you to go there!
You gotta come to the trenches fr for the good soul food, you hitting these spots OUTSIDE of Detroit. Come to the trenches, and you’ll find some 🔥🔥lol, just make sure you got a stick w/you! 😂
Idk who recommended that spot but perhaps while your in Michigan make your way to grand rapids or Muskegon if you want good food. Check out Julian's, 4 brother's on the corner of Madison and Burton, try out wolf gangs, load a spud, eastern deli, wing heaven, the beltline bar just to name a few. But if you go to Muskegon try Lee's chicken or Mr scribbs pizza.
I haven't been there in almost 20 years because I moved out of state but the place still exists if you are ever in Monroe County Michigan try Mancino's Pizza
Salute and bless good brother yo I could tell the chop wasn't seasoned by the color of the coating no pepper visible it went down hill visually for me good brother the cabbage had no onions or at least some red and green peppers for taste and color some garlic salt pepper a little bit of apple cider vinegar sheesh yeah I bring the good food ruckus thinking about opening a Shop here in Philly good brother Stay tuned Bless
We have a shit restaurant like that here in cartersille, johnboys, that is CONSTANTLY slammed. The drink machines are always down, the sweet tea is TRASH, the food all tastes boxed, the breakfast is devastatingly bad... But people swear by it. I swear they are terrified of seasoning because they for sure don't welcome it there, food is so bland, i wouldn't be surprised if the secret ingredient was water. 😅😅😅😅😅
This experience should serve as a valuable lesson for any restaurant emphasizing the importance of proper seasoning in their dishes. Although the presentation of each item was visually appealing, the flavor fell disappointingly short due to inadequate seasoning, underscoring the essential role that spices and herbs play in culinary excellence.
What is "properly seasoned" to one person is salty ASF to another. It's better to go a little light and let the customer add their salt and pepper to taste tbh. We just live in an era where everyone's pallet is so different. At no other tine in history do people have such diverse tastes and likes....vegan, lo carb, plant based, organic, no glutton, every type of ethnic food imaginable....so many options and so many people.

The one thing ive learned is people will tell u there restaurant is the one to go to because of personal attachments, but that doesn’t mean the food is good
This. It's the place where they grew up/settled down at. Problem is their world is small and there is so much better out there.

You out here straight leveling these restaurants with ur review
You got to come into the city. Not all around Detroit. Try some of the low key food spots. Many places up and down 7mile.East or west side

Have the two Coney Island gotten the rat problem fixed? This is a serious question, I remember seeing them on the news twice.

You can really tell a restaurant that have a lot of elderly customer nothing is seasoned.

I couldn’t agree with you more!!!!!! this place is hands-down the worst awful food awful service!!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Chef Greg's Soul N the Wall on Curtis the best fried pork chops. Try the Bogaloo sandwich. Then the Southern Smokehouse on Mcnichols (6 Mile) 👍🏾👍🏾
Midwesterners lost their touch when they left the South.
I have been living in Detroit all my 47 years and near heard of none of these places.

12$ for 2 wings is actual robbery.
Go to the Turkey Grill if you want a Turkey leg. Try Beans and Cornbread or Steves Soul Food
The flavor is the most important part!😮
I've been in Michigan for several months now and what I have noticed is that the food is not bad but they're not Seasoning it, and that's the issue.
