      As long as you follow the standard practices and keep your eye on the needle you will already highly decrease the chances. Most accidental sticks are typically from butterfly needles, but luckily butterflies are expensive and labs don’t want you to use them.

      I’m sorry. I believe in treating each patient like they were my family. Many healthcare technicians are passionate about helping people. If you’re not satisfied and CPTs draw your blood aggressively you have the right to speak up and ask them to stop the draw and ask for another employee to draw your blood instead. You can always ask for a supervisor and let the supervisor know about your experience. I’m sorry again love.

Quest has been giving me a hard time when I applied Phlebotomist positions and nothing happened, they selected others instead of me. Also, does Labcorp requires to have 1 year experience of Phlebotomy position because Quest does required (perferred) to have 1 year of experience in Phlebotomy. How much per hour did you started as a Phlebotomist at the Labcorp?

      Hey 👋 thank you for watching!
      If I were you I would apply to LabCorp and if you are selected you can always negotiate your pay, and hopefully they can accommodate your desired pay. I do know people who have told me their salary who have worked for Kaiser hospital. Kaiser starts there pay anywhere from $28-$33. I would love to give you my pay rate lol but I’ll most likely get in trouble for it so I can’t unfortunately. I’d say ask around and do more research to see if Labcorp is the company for you. I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the company. I also do you know one year is preferred at Labcorp, however, given the pandemics and people quitting I do know that each hiring manager is different and have different standards regarding hiring. I do know that it took me a year to get into labcorp and my coworkers who I work with had previous experience prior to working for Labcorp. Since I’m not Working as a mobile phlebotomist I can state that each patient I drew it was $25 per patient and $30 per covid swab. I can also tell you that I worked for a company called Genalyte is SD It was a short term contract and I was paid $45/ hr for 2 months working full time.

    Do phlebotomist work at LabCorp work weekends?

    • @theempressseries8907
      @theempressseries8907  2 года назад

      Some do some don’t. Depends on the lab. For example, smaller cities have labs where phlebotomists just draw blood and bigger cities there are labs where all the specimens get shipped for the scientists to process. The bigger labs like in SD, Riverside, LA, SF etc.. provide more overtime. Those labs are 24hr. Yes people work weekends at the bigger labs vs the smaller ones. :)

    Wait you were a mobile phlebotomist and why are at labcorp ? I want to leave from a lab go to mobile …

    • @theempressseries8907

      I prefer to work in a lab because I love what the experience brings you know ? You’re learning so much more and getting paid more. I am pursuing a degree to become a clinical laboratory scientist 👩‍🔬 and working as a mobile phlebotomist doesn’t give me those connections or experience I need really. However, there are many cons and pros. The cons: working mobile put too many miles on my car. lol 😆 which led to my car malfunctioning after a year. I was driving all throughout Southern California all day everyday. Also, working as a mobile phlebotomist I only see about 2-20 patients in a whole day. It’s rare you see many people. Working with a set schedule at labcorp I can see up to 30-80 patients in a day, and get those challenging draws to get better, and process specimens in the lab. Many pros to becoming a mobile phlebotomist too. I loved that I worked on my time you know ? I loved the breaks the freedom, and scenic routes. I loved that I met many celebrities during Mobile phlebotomy. It was chill….

      @@theempressseries8907 they’re making it seem like I can be making double than what I’m making at my current in lab job as a phlebotomist… I’m just hesitant bc of my ira. Mobile won’t give me that. I know confusion is the devil I have so many people who put doubt in my head and told me not leave now I’m stuck

      @@dialovescarbs390 driving around hours in a day really messed up my car I put thousands of dollars 💵 into my car because I had to drive all throughout Southern California haha. Yes being a mobile phlebotomist pays well and it helps your resume with your Phlebotomy experience. I personally had to put my own gas money in my car and pay for all car expenses. Believe me it was Expensive haha. I also never got a 401k nor bonuses as a mobile phlebotomist. I say go with your gut and research more. Collect more data on the matter and make a list and see which one is a better fit for you. Stay positive it will be okay. Don’t stress. You got this! However, each company is different. That was just my own personal experience.

      It can be challenging for many people. I know it was for me. However, I told myself I would not give up. I kept looking for phlebotomy positions every single day. I was even calling lab managers in hospitals talking to HR and asking them for advice. I was bugging people lol but I’m glad I did it. I landed my first job several months later. I didn’t give up. You’ve got this.
