Being Impressed and Skeptical at the same time

Out lives (both personal and professional) is all about taking decisions and we are generally faced with difficult choices most of the time. One of the well known trick is to look into the past, take the cue from the same, and then go ahead and decide for the future.
However, the past success is no guarantee of a future success and that's why I say that be impressed by the past but remain skeptical for the future. similarly, if the past is not good, it doesn't mean that the future will not be good also. So in this we can be skeptical from the past but remain optimistic for the future
