- Legendary rapper Project Pat came through to tell his life’s story with VladTV, starting with growing up with his younger brother, rapper Juicy J, in a drug-riddled neighborhood in Memphis. Pat went on to speak about being in the streets before Juicy J got him into rapping, which Pat admits was Juicy’s dream from a young age. From there, Project Pat spoke about his music career, including dropping his solo album “Ghetty Green,” and getting mainstream attention on Three 6 Mafia’s “Sippin’ on Some Syrup.” To hear Project Pat’s full story, hit the full interview above.
Project Pat is a living legend to me.
Pat and the Three 6 Mafia was what me and the bois in Baltimore was bumping from highschool all the way to the early 2000s.
I still stand by saying Mista Don't Play is a 10/10 album even till this day!

Breaks my heart when he said people looked up to him as a leader because he could read. Clearly a leader and incredible man but that says so much about how broken our society and educational system is. All respect to Project Pat as not just a musician, but a true example of how far someone can go in this world with hard work and faith.
its what people in Memphis vote for, they vote for being a dirty high crime dump. Project Pat and his brother Juicy J made it out by rapping about murdering people etc, at least we can get entertainment out of it
Lmao dude just said he sold drugs and robbed places and was questioned in murders and you say hes a leader and incredible man? 😂 you people dumb af
I consider it an honor to have produced not 1, 2, 3 but 4 tracks featuring Project Pat. This dude is legend

his lyrics teach people to murder each other, he bragged about murdering people in some of his music but I doubt he did because it could be used as evidence, but he makes a living promoting murder. Nice role model for yall

Word for word the same for me. I remember the hardest thing I listened to at the time was Eminem (circa 2004), and someone showed me "Whole Lotta Weed".

Project Pat is as REAL as they come... Very humbled! ✊🏽
Project Pat isn’t bitter or salty like some of the older rappers who came up in during his era, and that’s mainly because the newer generation embraces him! Cardi B sampled him on “Bickenhead”, 21 Savage put him on “Good Day” & most recently Drake threw him on “Knife Talk” so he’s good cause the heavy hitters of today pay homage and show love
You said this brilliantly man, this man a legend & this interview was great.
Project pat is forever certified. Even to this day I can’t wait for new verses from him. His flow is so unique
Lol it's not "mainly because" the new generation accepts him. Who gives a fuck about that. It's because they made good music, have a huge following and are successful. Don't get it twisted
Project Pat is a Memphis rap legend. Been listening to his stuff since his very first solo tape. He's a good man too. But you gotta realize that some of the people you're calling "bitter or salty" are just passionate artists. You also gotta realize that Pat is really just rapping as a hustle. Juicy got him into it and he was down because he could make money. Hewouldn't do it otherwise. Obviously all rappers are trying to make some money but Pat has never really attached himself to the music like that. If people sample him he's just happy to get paid. So there's no real artistic passion there that he's getting upset over if someone bites his style. He even talks about just rapping to make money in this interview. That's a huge difference between him and some rappers who are more invested in the lifestyle.
I think dude had good intention with this comment, but Drake is a straight culture vulture. Several times already he's straight up ripped old school verses, slightly tweaking them, makes it come off as his own cuz he don't say shit about it being a homage or anything. This is fucking known. Comments like OP's paint the wrong picture. Drake do not give a fuck about the culture or the OGs, he just wants to take what they did and make himself pop off it. It's embarrassing and hollow. He's got some talent, but this ain't where it's at.
The Holy Ghost is shining all through pat. You can tell that he rededicated his life back to the Lord. Keep Going Man
Yeah dude skins Silky as fuck
Bout time you dropped the full interview ‼️‼️
Listening to Pat talk is like listening to my pops. He spoke so much knowledge especially at the ending.

@@brianedwards4023 same here. I still don't get tired of these dudes music.
I like how he realizes all the trouble he got in was his fault. Not a lot of rappers have that mindset
To me it's the difference between smart and stupid. You either learn from choices and realize how to make betters ones snd be accountable or you're too stupid to make the connection and figure it out. And that's coming from a felon.
Alot of these rappers haven't done anything to put fault on themselves. They rap about the street life but didn't live it
Pat is really a real one
He is living proof that the older you get the wiser you become 🌱
If you are smart. That is not a guarantee at all.. one trip to a jail or prison and you'll see many people who got older but didn't get wiser.
