    Good comparison but it would have been really nice to show how the actual welding looks through the helmets. A video (or picture) shows/tells volumes.

    I don't get people who think their helmets weight bothers them. Maybe its because i exercise alot? I borrowed a "super heavy helmet" according to my buddy and welded almost 8 hours in total and didn't notice that it was to heavy.

  • @jordanz6901
    @jordanz6901 2 года назад +1

    I just want to add to everyone looking. Watch how the helmets sit on his head. The 3m is by far the most comfortable to walk around and wear around because it sits lower and hugs your head. It makes it so your head and neck don't feel the weight so much in the up position. Just something to look at.

    Gotta give it to speedglas for innovation and the fact it’s the only one with an integrated ventilation over mold. Also adaptive with 3Ms PAPR system . I believe that should have been covered as an attribute in this video.

    I have never seen anybody apart from a first year apprentice weld with their head that CLOSE to the arc,: first up the lens will get burnt from direct radiation and the lens will get covered in smoke after i minute of welding : you have your head right in the smoke stream.

    My eyes ache inside after I weld. Not arc eye, but aching inside or back of the eyes. Wasn’t like this when I started welding several years ago. Now, every time. I’ve used different brands, different shades, different settings. Nothing helps. Any reason for this? Are the lenses really 100% safe? Something is getting thru. Doctors said eyes are fine. The aching can last several weeks from one welding session.

    How do you feel the miller t94 Compares to the digital infinity with clearsight? I know the t94 has a smaller viewing area, but I also like the external grind button option and the side panels. I also do a lot of spray arc welding, so I need something that can hold up to high heat

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  6 лет назад +1

      Kenneth- the lens technology is now the same so same clarity for the lens. Andrew said that he prefers the Infinity viewing area for welding. If you are doing a lot of grinding the T94 external button would come in handy. Infinity you are looking at a 13.4 square inch viewing area compared to the T94 at 9 square inches (not including side windows) If you do go with the T94 right now is a great time to buy they have a $50 rebate on the helmet. I have the older model like yours and have been very curious to see what the new version with true light lens has to offer.. I also have the 3350 4c Lincoln too and it is awesome by my preference is the bigger viewing area such as the infinity. What's your take on that?

    For some reason I never get on board with the American brand hoods, hard to put finger on but could be the square style of them, what it is I honestly do not know but to call any of these bad is not fair so I will not, taste and personal preferences I suppose?
    Just the opposite for me, I just love the Esab comfort, such a step up from lower grade Warrior Tech style hoods, I think it's the best out of them and bought one, however I think it's better for Tig, for stick or high amp Mig/Mag I prefer the 3M to be honest. Also don't like that you must constantly tighten the screw knobs at the sides on the Esab that sucks a bit.
    When I am outside and in tight spaces I take the cheaper 3M SL over any of these, honestly it's good enough to be fair even without "true color" and sure is lighter, smaller and the get my head into spaces where the heavy., bigger hoods just are not comfortable.

      Andrew prefers the Miller overall but said in the video that clarity wise they are all similar with the "True Color" technology. The Miller is the heaviest but largest viewing area with great clarity and the Lincoln is one of the lightest and most economical - best bang for your buck. Sentinel has a lot of advanced features like the touch screen inside and the round front/look. Speedglas is the most expensive but they had the technology first and only comes in the one color shown in the video. Hopefully that helps! Let us know if you have more questions!

      @Chris Farley Optical distortion, the ADF is still a little too dark for my liking, the screen is too damn close to my face.
      I've tried hacks like using a flood light on my work area, that helps to some degree but the area around the weld puddle still seems too dark for my eyes.
      I have no other helmet to compare to so i'm shopping around, plus some others I know have expressed interest in learning to weld and i've offered the use of my machine but I only have one helmet.
      I love the touch screen aspect of the a50, works just like my phone. The grind button seems to not work at all, it does not change any settings on the ADF.

      Well since ya mention it... I know it had the 4c tech but I'm wondering about useability and comfort, weight comparison to the t94 and Viking 3350 in my case. I bought my 3350 from y'all and if the 3250d is what I hope it is I'll be placing another order.

      @@kurse333 the T94 feels great on your head! Lightweight and much nicer than the 3350 on your head. As for the 3250D we do not sell nearly as many as we do the T94. It is not a bad helmet but I would point you towards the T94 if you are looking to go that direction or even the Crystal 2.0 is super light and clarity is insane! We just posted a video on that check it out if you have not already.

      Im calling bullshit even if your lens was off no UV/IR will pass though the lens it physically cannot give you a flash burn. So either your a liar or, just stupid. The only way you could get flashburn with a hood on is from light leak a reflection come from somewhere either behind or below and enter your hood none of which would be the fault of the hood.
