SHIN BET VS. NETANYAHU

- Prime Minister Netanyahu is hinting that there is something more sinister going on behind an investigation of leaks from his office: yet another politically motivated use of law enforcement. And this time it's not the police, it's Israel's secret security service - Shabak (aka Shin Bet). Though we don't yet have all the information, Gadi thinks he's heard it all before - has Shabak director Ronen Bar taken a page from James Comey's book? Mike, not yet convinced, nevertheless thinks such an interpretation is beginning to make more sense.
We also discussed Trump's new appointments and what they reveal about his administration's future policy vis-à-vis Israel.
I love that you bring absolute clarity to all the attempts to discredit your Prime Minister Mr Taub. I believe that only Mr Netanyahu will take responsibility for what happened on October 7, The rest do not care about anything but their own positions. This is one of the best podcasts about Israel that I really enjoy, with love and blessings from South Africa
IDK if you tried it already, but another such show is Caroline Glick show. she’s a little bit more serious and less optimistic, but she provides really excellent analytics from RW of Israeli politics vis a vis USA vis a vis the Left, war and all this… she’s just excellent. her show and this one are like Ying and Yang.
Much admiration and appreciate you both for thinking "out of the box" ..... todah rabah. 🙏🌻
What a fantastic show. You speak about all the things that drive us completely crazy but with a human and friendly light spirit that helps me to be sane under the circumstances! Thanks.
אין לי זמן להקשיב כרגע,אבל ממש חשוב לי להגיב שגם בקרב הזה,נתניהו וכל המחנה הלאומי מנצח בעזרת השם!
אוהבים אתכם מייק וגדי
I have to agree with Mike on the slogan.
"As sane as possible under the circumstances", is exactly how I have felt since oct 7.
I look forward to your podcast each week. Thank you. Irresistably witty, informative and insightful as always.
Another episode right on time! Goodies, you make my day so much better :-) I appreciate the humour and the intelligent, honest conversation
One of my favorite shows.
I have a story for you guys that you may find amusing. I was having a drink with some left-wing Israeli friends of mine. They were visiting us here in Melbourne, Australia. I met them at a quiet bar. When the drinks arrived at our table, the 3 of us charged our glasses towards a l'chaim, but I chose to say עד ניצחון מוחלט. My friends wife nearly fell off her chair and said 'DON'T you dare say that!'
My first thought was of you guys 😄
Please translate the Hebrew.
@@brynawaldman5790 It's about "To total victory!"
Which is Benjamin Nethanyahu's unofficial (yet repeated) war goal that the left, and some officials in the IDF, really dislike hearing.
@@brynawaldman5790 to total victory. It's a catchphrase of the Israeli right, and it really irritates people who demand a deal now.
Means: until complete victory
Of course you have left wing Israeli friends in Melbourne. Or they would be loyal fighters and be up north
Toda raba from Brooklyn NY. Totally love watching your interaction. So much dynamic energy and insights! You both are very interesting on your own and together is just brilliant conversation. Hopefully you can make a show when you soon meet personally in either Prague or USA or Israel ! Thanks
This witchhunt against Netanyahu freaks me out!
I'm an oleh of 10 years and wake up every morning worried that they're just about to oust him...
Gadi manages to speak about it and smile unconcernededly...
I guess that comes with being Israeli-born...
Nothing to worry about, they are doing it all wrong, you can see it now in the US.
Nobody can oust the majority, for some reason they got the impression that giving the majority a face and targeting that is a good strategy, but all that was achieved is that more people are up-to-date.
Yeah, people in the media and politics have been saying "this is the end of Bibi's era" for many years now, and have been making insane illegal efforts to remove him, so in a way we are used to it, but its true that lately they are getting incredibaly brazen. So this change is frightning but also I believe it will be their ruin, they expose themsleves to much.
Praying Psalm 94:23 “He has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off.” I believe God will defend PM Netanyahu.
Bibi who apparently spoke with Trump 3 times in the last week said that they spoke about Iran and are in complete agreement.
Surprisingly (no disrespect) intelligent, very knowledgable, and satisfyingly insightful. Keep up the good work.
The more we know, the more we don't know. As ever, you lift our understanding.
These podcasts are so interesting
I love the theme music, particularly the bass opening... such incongruous juxtaposition when title 'Israel at war' comes up
Thank you both
Always warms my heart to see your dynamic and the thoughtful analyses ☺️
“Inside Out Analysis”
I would be happy to pay for this live event if it took place in Israel...
I’m a RUclips junky and I can confidently say this is my favorite show. I have questions that need answeing:
1. Why does Mike like/care for Israel so much? We jews who have deep reason to care don’t seem to have anything on him?
2. Gadi I need you to go on Dan Senor’s “Call Me Back” show. Too much Nadav Eyal.
3. What do you guys think of Haviv Rettig Gur?
Yalla
I second the comments/suggestions/questions.
Haviv is a closet lefty. He pretends to be right wing like Bennett, but ALWAYS throws shade on PM Netanyahu and the Government mid existential war, joins call for election etc. Very smart guy, dishonest guy, smooth talker.
Mike probably loves Israel for the reasons most Americans do: Christian Zionism OR shared Judeo Christian values of the West i.e. Conservatism.
I have also wanted the convergence of call me back and israel update
Me too!
I love you both - your knowledge, your analyses, and, of course, your friendly "bickering".
The ending was so funny 😂
I am waking with a smile.
You got something good here!
Where can I pay somthing to support you?
They do accept support for their news channels, you can probably find links to it in the description or in Gadi's main channel.
I'd be happy if you could get deeper and have a kind of deep dive brainstorming for one key subject.
I suggest the following: which goals and strategies can Israel consider in order to fundamentally change its strategic position in the middle east, and how can the US help Israel in this context (assuming an alignment could be achieved between Bibi and Trump, of course).
For example, some ambitious goals could be -
1. Eliminating Iran's will and ability to have proxies around Israel, or preventing the proxies from having significant power and influence in the relevant countries.
2. Getting Iran super busy in defending the regime so they have no bandwidth for targeting Israel. Or, replacing the Iranian regime (with the USA and allies).
If these are the goals, how do we get there? Review the options.
Thanks for the great show!
Thank you gentlemen
Another reason Trump cannot and will not turn his back on Israel is his strong backing by evangelical Christians-who love and support Israel…and DJT knows this!!
Its very difficult to forget about the pain
Keep up your very good, intelligent and so useful work.
Gadi IS a very attractive guy! Can totally understand the desire of the girl to marry him .Mike ,are YOU available , by any chance ?
You both are just great !❤
To answer the opening question, I'd attend a ny show if able... and pay too. Good job!
@Mike: Why now? Possibly because the combo American/Israeli woke/left soft-coup didn't work and so other tactics must be applied. RLB Rak Lo Bibi.
Obama and Ehud Barak are having nervous breakdowns. “We gotta come up with something fast”.

Hey Mike and Gadi - greetings from the Georgia (US) mountians. Thanks so much for everything you're doing. A couple of points:
-Tag Line: "Found in Translation" - I think all the behind the scenes stuff is great and the line seems appropriate since you guys are always correcting each other, both in language and in the interpretation of news and events
-Question: I agree with most of your analysis, and i'm a huge fan of Schueftan. I'm genuienly curious about something since no one really talks about it anymore: where exactly are the hostages? what are your theories of where they are? is it possible that the IDF doesn't know about all the tunnels over a year into the war? does the IDF think that families are holding them in north gaza? what are the chances that they were smuggled out through Egypt? Is it possible that they are being hidden in the humanitarian zones? What is the likelyhood that a lot of Gazans are aware of where they are? any theories on this would be greatly appreciated
@@slantwild great questions .... been on my mind too, that there seems little mention of them.
Maybe the offer of rewards for living hostages is part of their way to try get some back.... or, just maybe, they do know where some are and are plotting a daring rescue?
And more IDF soldiers seem to have fallen in Gaza over past few weeks than when they were in heavy battle. Tragically wondering why? Someone mentioned "battle fatigue".
I like how you guys explore the reasoning behind your conclusions. More often that not you're showing how to think about these things rather than what to think.
Great conversation. By the way, the correct pronunciation is Smotrich, not Smootrich.
"Dour" is pronounced by Scots as Gadi does it and by English people as Mike has it. I love Mike's summary of Nixon and Erdogan.
Two Scots have informed us of this. I (Gadi) thought it was the British pronunciation, but I'm perfectly satisfied with Scott. I LOVE Scotland.
Scots here that says "doooor". Well done Gadi!
Thank you for spreading facts and truth
I would consider going to NYC to attend a live discussion ✅
The biggest (and biasedly most important) criticism of the show (שתי אגורות שלי): it's too short. By a lot. I think a 2.5 hour discussion would be better then you can get to all the topics that you forget to week in and week out. Plus it will allow some time for deeper analysis of important policy and strategic/tactical issues, in addition to the political theater.
#Gazans_Out_Of_Israel
Live NYC event! You would need to rent MSG!
Brilliant comparison Gadi!
Live event!! Love it
Yes! Very interested in coming !
It would be good if you organise an online live discussion between you two, and take questions from the viewers via the chat box

Gadi you’ve done another excellent job carrying Doran across the finish line.
Count me in!❤❤❤ I would pay up to $100
We need a certified professionals statement on you guys that you are straight lol the way say you connected and missing appointments losing time when you together .. r u kidding me lol ok will be waiting for the bios! Also, i'm broke i can't fly or pay tickets to see you you guys as much as i would like to! so you can cross me from the attendees list hahaha Thank u for the insightful episode and i agree with Gadi again! Keep well stay safe and God bless :))
‘The aim is to procure dirt to oust bibi or paralyze him”
Bring Dan Schueftan on as a guest! Bring Yoram Hazony on as a guest! Bring Michael Oren on as a guest!
I honestly don’t understand why don’t we leave UN.
if there’s any benefit at all in our membership, the downsides outweight it by orders of magnitude. we should leave, and we should do this on our initiative, on our terms, loudly and proudly, without looking back.
Question for the Two Sages Mike and Gadi: how critical was the Biden Administration support in the attempts to unseat the PM?
Would love to attend your live event in NY. Please make sure you make in the evening so I can finish my working day. If you do charge please do not make it as expensive as one of the broadway shows. More like off off off broadway would be fair guys.
Ok, you guys asked for it….
New slogan (esp for Mike)
50 Shades Of Chocolate.
Please do a live event in Israel as well.
I did like his book "Rise and Kill First". Don't know much else about Bergman's other journalistic work.
Gadi's right to suggest putting a territorial price on Lebanon for its war. For a long time, Western armies have not been able to win anything, and part of it is precisely the inviolability of borders, enforced by the international order only against Western parties. (Russia is now demonstrating that non-Western states are certainly getting away with enlarging their territory, in a war of aggression no less). I hear that Pete Hegseth is a serious thinker and so he must understand this point. He may be the right person to raise this with. It seems the best way to impress on some people the fact that they lost.
Thank you for the reporting on Russia-gate, Israel style.
I’d come to an event in NY and would promote it too!
Annexation of our rightful land!
"Secret conference in Prauge" - 2.0 )))
Trump will squeeze Bibi so hard and so fast in no time his Haredim blackmail will come to an end. That is complete victory for Israel
Can’t wait to see Gadi in leather
@@lloydfalconer9613 😄🤪
And I’d pay!
These are tactics used by the former Soviet Union, sadly it’s still being used in Israel. We are not a democracy but a banana republic.
I’d come from DC!
I'd go to a live episode in NYC, I'd pay $20 ideally. Definitely not $1,000.
Do you think it would help if a million ordinary people applied as a class or group in any application against bibi’s competency. They could be represented by the same counsel and put their objections to the court. Difficult to rule against that?
What’s the added value of coming to see you on stage? Isn’t it better to donate to cost of the ticket and travel to your channel?
I can't point to what it is, but something off about having Noa in the intro. Consider removing it, replace with people still stuck in Gaza. Not enough talk about the 101
The timing is probably due to the American election: shortly before the election, it became clear that Trump could win, so defenestrating the PM became urgent. Orchestrated... may also be related to the current US administration? That could be why the PM is not spelling it out; alternatively, it may not be his style to spell out ridiculous shenanigans when the future of the country is at stake.
I’m surprised you guys didn’t mention this. Any explanations?
At Riyadh summit, Saudi crown prince backs Iran, accuses Israel of genocide
Live event in NY? Count me in.
Yes! Live event NYC!
Gadi, do you support Netanyahu's plan to continue exempting the ultra-orthodox from military service?
The honest truth about you two will be revered.
I understood that the court had thrown the case out!
Nice shirt, Gadi
😂 Doran found the transition from academic theorizing to practical policy advice challenging, noting the difference between proposing ideas for students and having to tell bosses what actions to take

Does this go all the way back to the assassination of Rabin?
Live Miami event! I would pay $125+. All the based Jews are in Florida now.
live event in Israel as well !!!!!

Hey Mike, in your intellectual options for 55 plus year olds, there is another category of being surprised. If you develop senility, you will also be surprised, only all the time.
I'm not sure how Mike comes to this. From covid my observation is that it's younger people who cant change their minds. Personally I've completely changed my worldview since 55. Incidentally, the change started with the 2000 "second intifada" that showed to anyone able to think that the "Palestinians" only want to destroy Israel.
🎉
Remember Gaza! ♥️🥀🥀🥀♥️
They look human but they are not
I don’t get the vicious ideologies and propaganda against Bibi. Israelis are on the same side for goodness sake
It is very encouraging that both of you guys are looking through variety of problems with funny and laughable view to gloomy reality. 😂
Another 🏠 🏃
Not sure about marriage, but gadi is pretty cool :D He most likely not into trans women though :P
dour
adjective
relentlessly severe, stern, or gloomy in manner or appearance. "a hard, dour, humourless fanatic"
Gadi's pronunciation was entirely in line with UK pronunciation. Perhaps Mike's pronunciation is American, but some of my US friends say that Gadi is entirely right. The real point here though is that you should never correct a friend about their pronunciation of any word because that leads to insecurity in speech. In this case Mike is entirely forgiven because he is such a nice man.
Do it in Amsterdam.
Love your podcast. Please demand Gadi to speak less and let you speak more. Tell him an Israeli woman said so. Ofcourse I love hearing you both
