Bombay Karachi Halwa is a very popular Indian sweet dish made from Cornflour, Sugar and Water; flavoured with cardamom and ghee. This recipe of Cornflour Halwa does not involve any stirring like traditional Halwas and also does not use maida or khoya or any sugar syrup.

Ingredients:
1 cup corn flour
4 cups water
3 cups sugar
100 grams ghee/clarified butter
cardamom powder
Red food colour
almonds and cashews
lemon juice
Recipe:
Take a vessel and add 1 cup Cornflour
add 4 cups water and dilute it without lumps
Take a pan and add 2 and half spoons sugar
Add 1 cup water and mix well
Boil for 5 minutes and add 1 spoon lemon juice
mix well for 2 minutes
Now add corn flour slurry to sugar syrup and mix well
Mix until the Cornflour mixture becomes glossy and thick
Add 1 spoon ghee and mix for 5 minutes
Add 3 -5 spoons of ghee at regular intervals and keep mixing
Add chopped nuts and mix for 2 minutes
Add red food colour and mix thoroughly
Mix until the Cornflour mixture separates with the pan
Add 1 spoon ghee at the end and mix well
Take a square shaped container and grease it with ghee
Add cooked halwa to the container and garnish with chopped nuts
keep the halwa aside for 30 minutes
After 30 minutes cut the halwa into squares
