Shouldn’t it be “aniyunwiya” instead of “Cherokee” being that we didn’t refer to ourselves as such prior to the colonization ?? Because I’m aniyunwiya (kituwah) I come from a long line of them … only thing is that they didn’t look like how the ones look today …. They were what you would “consider” today to be “black” from Africa because the dark skin except only they were not Africans at all they’re just straight American Indian . they’re what youd call aborigines so they were swarthy complected, they had long flowing hair (all the women in my family on my mothers side) the high cheek bones the dark copper colored red skin (Indian red) all that … my great grandmother spoke pure jalagi and hitchiti as well so I know a little . I’m learning more here now tho
