Romanticide is just such a badass word. Marco Hietala is the singing bassplayer btw. He's sadly no longer with the band. His voice blends so well with Floor's, it was a big part of what made this work. I mean, I love Troy, but I don't think he can deliver this like Marco.
What makes Nightwish in its entirety SO BADASS, so unmatched, is that every musician is so extraordinary, amazing, in their craft and then the sum is even greater than the parts! I second the wish 🙏 that Marko comes back to Nightwish!
Macro as Bass player could be replaced by the new Bass play Jukka (not the original drummer). But as a singer who blended so well with Floor and could be lead singer or narrator singer will be missed from the Nightwish sound. Troy does a good or even a great job as background singer today but the sound is definitely different now vocally.
I agree 100%. I saw them live in Amsterdam last November and they were brilliant, but Troy cannot match Marko’s vocals. They also did Phantom of the Opera with Henk and that was kind of a disappointment. He tried too hard to sound like Marko’s growls and gravelly voice and ended up sounding kinda weird. He may even have added some sort of effect on his voice. No one does the Phantom like Marko!
Loved what you said about Floor at the beginning. I've often called her the baddest woman on the planet, but she uses her bad-assery for good, as she is very kind and humble. The total package. Of course, the entire band are amazing, and every member gets a chance to shine here. It's so good, you'd think this would be a staple of their setlist, at least while Marko was a member, but that is not the case at all. So we're lucky to have this special performance captured.

For a decade ive been thinking of an adjective to describe Floor and I think the closet ive come is *"Regal".* She is Elegant, powerful, imposing, she has an enormous presence, exudes authority and confidence, shes all around larger than life. Even her posture it the one of a Queens dignity. There is no mystery why she is "the Valkyrie Queen". It wasnt given to her, She eanred that title.
This is heavy nightwish, Marko the bass player and singer and Floor are a match made in heaven. This band will never cease to surprise you. Try I want my tears back live at Buenos Aires if you want something the complete opposite, you get to meet the sixth band member Troy a multi instrumentalist who specialises in the Uilleann pipes a form of Irish bagpipe, you might think that wouldn't go but it really does, this song also features Floor and Marko singing together again. You mentioned her stature and stage presence well in this one she has the audience eating out of her hand, all dancing Floors all over the place it's completely different but in a great way. I suggest "Song of Myself" from the same concert, but if you'd like to continue with other shows from the band I recommend "The Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth", which are long epic songs. "The Phantom of the Opera" is one of their most popular performances, specially the one with their first singer, Tarja Turunen.
Marko is amazing vocalist and bassist. He formed a band called TAROT w/ his brother in 1982. Featuring in many many projects, played in Sinergy 2000/2002, is one of the four amazing singers in Northern Kings.... also released his first solo album in 2019, "Mustan Sydämen Rovio" (Pyre Of The Black Heart"). Check out "The Voice Of My Father" song. He left Nightwish for personal reasons, depression and anxiety and also he was tired of the greedy, back stabbing music industry.

I agree, Floor is really badass... when on stage. Otherwise she is humble, kind, down-to-earth and just the sweetest "girl-next-door". Way back when she was still singing with After Forever they would always join the fans in the venue after the concert, to just chit-chat and engage. Not a grain of arrogance or "diva" behavior.
That was one of the best moments in one of the best concerts of the last 20 years. Never gets old. But when ready to try another Nightwish concert, try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires 2018. That one also has some more badass back and forth with Marko and Floor. 🔥🤘🔥

This song is often thought of as Part 2 of "Slaying the Dreamer" and even in some ways is written similarly. Tuomas wrote both songs and essentially directed them toward the music industry as a whole and they speak about his incredible disenchantment with the shitstorm that has to take place just to get his material out to the fans who truly love his music. In the end it's all for profit on the record companies part while his motive are far more altruistic and he sees the discrepancy and hates the fact that he has to play their sickening and dishonest game at all. I would recommend you listen to Slaying the Dreamer for a bit more context to this song, it's also an amazing piece of music but is even more specifically directed toward the music industry and he has said so in interviews.

You can't go wrong with any song from Wacken 2013, the Platinum standard... always do Wacken first. Yes, I see Song of Myself suggested...Ever Dream... even the finale Last Ride of the Day. Floor is the best singer on the planet. Toumos has said if she ever leaves Nightwish is finished. that alone tells you everything you need to know about any debate of prior singers. you should know the band is taking a hiatus after one more show in Europe this month. It is for the long term health of the band. We are hoping for and I am predicting a 2025 reunion WITH Marco rejoining as two more years should be plenty of time for him to help with his mental demons. He is irreplaceable for what he brought to the performances. Continue your journey.
If you really want to delve deep, please do your research before reacting to The Poet and the Pendulum. There is a lot of depth there. Also, Master Passion Greed, although there is no live version of that track. Both of these were during a transitional period for the band and there is a LOT of meaning to them. Research first!! Then, react. Love to see those.
Floor is a great singer, but some songs that were written for Tarja (1st vocalist) just sounds better with... well, Tarja's voice. This one is Tarja's song for me, despite all wonderful things that Floor presented here. Ghost love score was taken over by Floor, no argue there, by not Romanticide.
If reactors would have the patience to start the video just 20 seconds before the actual song starts, they would hear Marco explain exactly what Romanticide is. But they do not and neither did you. It's a shame.

For a decade ive been thinking of an adjective to describe Floor and I think the closet ive come is *"Regal".*
She is Elegant, powerful, imposing, she has an enormous presence, exudes authority and confidence, shes all around larger than life.
Even her posture it the one of a Queens dignity.
There is no mystery why she is "the Valkyrie Queen".
It wasnt given to her, She eanred that title.
This is heavy nightwish, Marko the bass player and singer and Floor are a match made in heaven. This band will never cease to surprise you. Try I want my tears back live at Buenos Aires if you want something the complete opposite, you get to meet the sixth band member Troy a multi instrumentalist who specialises in the Uilleann pipes a form of Irish bagpipe, you might think that wouldn't go but it really does, this song also features Floor and Marko singing together again. You mentioned her stature and stage presence well in this one she has the audience eating out of her hand, all dancing Floors all over the place it's completely different but in a great way. Marko is amazing vocalist and bassist. He formed a band called TAROT w/ his brother in 1982. Featuring in many many projects, played in Sinergy 2000/2002, is one of the four amazing singers in Northern Kings.... also released his first solo album in 2019, "Mustan Sydämen Rovio" (Pyre Of The Black Heart"). Check out "The Voice Of My Father" song.
He left Nightwish for personal reasons, depression and anxiety and also he was tired of the greedy, back stabbing music industry.

I agree, Floor is really badass... when on stage. Otherwise she is humble, kind, down-to-earth and just the sweetest "girl-next-door". Way back when she was still singing with After Forever they would always join the fans in the venue after the concert, to just chit-chat and engage. Not a grain of arrogance or "diva" behavior.
That was one of the best moments in one of the best concerts of the last 20 years. Never gets old. But when ready to try another Nightwish concert, try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires 2018. That one also has some more badass back and forth with Marko and Floor. 🔥🤘🔥

This song is often thought of as Part 2 of "Slaying the Dreamer" and even in some ways is written similarly. Tuomas wrote both songs and essentially directed them toward the music industry as a whole and they speak about his incredible disenchantment with the shitstorm that has to take place just to get his material out to the fans who truly love his music. In the end it's all for profit on the record companies part while his motive are far more altruistic and he sees the discrepancy and hates the fact that he has to play their sickening and dishonest game at all.
I would recommend you listen to Slaying the Dreamer for a bit more context to this song, it's also an amazing piece of music but is even more specifically directed toward the music industry and he has said so in interviews.
Oh buddy, I knew you'd dig this one. If you're listening to these while running, expect to do your path in about half the time. hah.

You can't go wrong with any song from Wacken 2013, the Platinum standard... always do Wacken first. Yes, I see Song of Myself suggested...Ever Dream... even the finale Last Ride of the Day. Floor is the best singer on the planet. Toumos has said if she ever leaves Nightwish is finished. that alone tells you everything you need to know about any debate of prior singers. you should know the band is taking a hiatus after one more show in Europe this month. It is for the long term health of the band. We are hoping for and I am predicting a 2025 reunion WITH Marco rejoining as two more years should be plenty of time for him to help with his mental demons. He is irreplaceable for what he brought to the performances. Continue your journey.

Also, Master Passion Greed, although there is no live version of that track. Both of these were during a transitional period for the band and there is a LOT of meaning to them. Research first!! Floor is a great singer, but some songs that were written for Tarja (1st vocalist) just sounds better with... well, Tarja's voice.
This one is Tarja's song for me, despite all wonderful things that Floor presented here.
Ghost love score was taken over by Floor, no argue there, by not Romanticide.
If reactors would have the patience to start the video just 20 seconds before the actual song starts, they would hear Marco explain exactly what Romanticide is. But they do not and neither did you. It's a shame.
