Pyrinoids are non-membranous organelles found in chloroplast. They are the main part of the algae and hornworts because it help in CO2 concentration mechanism. it is the centre of CO2 fixation in Algae. While in higher algae like Rhodophyceae usually pyrenoids are limited in number or absent.
