the most common issue I see with the ZZ plants that I get from the store is that the roots are so tight inside the pot that it's almost close to break the pot. And when I try to repot it to a bigger pot, I need to know the composition of the existing soil , so that I fill the gap to the margins with the same soil mix that the plant comes in. But this information is not present on the plant's tag and I'm having a hard time figuring this out by studying it visually Anyway, I will try your suggestion 60% regular soil + 40% cactus mix :D Thanks for the clip
Who knew soil could be so exciting? Thanks for demystifying the ZZ plant soil mix! Can't wait to give my green buddy the VIP treatment it deserves. 🌿💚 #PlantParenting
Nursery knows what they doing in THEIRE ENVIRONMENT :) I always have to change the potting mix because where I live, 85F+ dry summers and 45F humet winters. My zz came in a sort of tropical mix. I didn’t water it for a month, but after the first watering I got rotten roots 😔 Thanks for the video :)
My beautiful ZZ plant just randomly rotted in the middle of the cluster. I watered it maybe 3 times in the past year and it was already super tight in the pot (the pot was even deformed by the rhizomes) when I got it as a gift a year ago, but I was told that if I repot it there is a very big chance that it might die. Now I need to repot it and I am devastated. Since I got it already big (probably 1,5-2 times bigger then the one you have in the video)
I've had my ZZ for about 13-14 mos and it has sent up many new shoots in the last couple months and two of them shot up taller than the original growths!

Mine do great with approximately 60% potting soil, 20% small bark, 20% perlite, and a bit of charcoal.

What are your thoughts on potting a ZZ & Raven ZZ together. Like breaking apart and repoting all together?

My ZZ plants are out of control lol the only plant I can keep which actually grows and multiplies instead of dying.
I just got mine from home Depot do I need to change the soil ?
My zz plant's stem gets only 2 or 4 leaves max. What may be the reason?
I have a ZZ raven plant and its roots are growing out of the drainage holes. Was looking for the best soil mix.
I mix 50% potting soil, 15% perlite, 10 % orchid bark and about 25% of the old soil I take it out of
can i use part peat moss and part soil
Hi. I have a zz Plant, for like a year, and it’s not growing at all, it’s the same size since I bought it 😣😣

You keep unnecessary long talk.
