He is not a great manager yet. He can be but still has much to show, he got lucky in UCL but his results in other competitions are bad for now. I don't think he is protecting his legacy he doesn't come to me as someone who wouldn't coach of fear of ruining his record and as I say his record in other competitions is not very good. But it is not his fault, he still hasn't been allowed to fully manage a team because in Real Madrid coaches do not sign the players, it is Florentino, so they can't really build a project of their own.
