- The Netflix Series "GOOD NIGHT WORLD" starts streaming Thursday, October 12, only on Netflix.

In the online game "Planet," there is a powerful team of four players.
This team goes by the name "The Akabane Family," and its members are a pseudo-family that only exists in the game.
Although they aren't aware of it, these four players are actually a broken family in real life.
A shut-in older brother. A high-achieving younger brother. A father who is not respected by his own children. A mother who neglects her own household.
They do not know the warmth of family. They also don't know that the warmth of their online family is only a passing feeling.
And most of all, they don't know they are a real family.
Centered on the deeds of the Akabane Family in the online game "Planet," the story features battles against monsters, clashes with other guilds, and the machinations surrounding "Black Bird," the final objective of the game.
The tale takes a major turn as it entangles the real world and this real family.

Ok, I was not expecting that twist, the concept sounds really interesting. It’s a broken family that actually love each other and the way they end up connecting is through an MMO. Sounds really heartwarming.

I think it’s a unique & interesting concept. I’ve never seen anything like it, though SOA would probably be the closest thing. They all did end up like a real family after all.
So interesting! Love the concept, and the dichotomy between "happy team family" and "depressing void of relationship to family" leaves a lot of room for development. Will be watching!
At worst it will be the edgiest thing I've seen. The premise sounds like the writer actually put thought into how we wants the story to turn out, sounds fun.

@@peterstoric6560 yepp, but the whole alicization arc vis-a-vis the whole A.I. concept and everything plus the first season is about dying in the game as you said. That's the basic premise of Good Night world too.
I remember reading this back when I was in High School. I'm blown away at the fact that it's going to be animated. I hope it turns out well :D

Every time I hear the name "Sword Art Online," I physically recoil. An obnoxious, vapid rip off of Dot Hack. At least whatever this series is has a clever premise and something to say.

a dysfunctional family of four who seeks escape from reality they played vr game and coincidentally become family like party in game without knowing each other real identity, their goal like many other player is to hunt the abnormal unknown monster known as black bird that serve as plot twist, the story start of like normal action vr game adventure but quickly turned into horror, the kind of story that give you uncanny feeling and bittersweet ending

And from the cardboard box before that, she might have left behind something, if you know what I mean
I was going through hard times in 2012, I got very deep into mmorpgs. I can relate to this guy a lot...when your at your lowest peak and don't know any better. The escape becomes more immersive. Bad and good times....

Sort of. I give it about 7.5 overall. Jus finished it yesterday. It’s basically Megaman battle network mixed with elements of Dot hack . And reminds me of Yugioh too when the card monsters became real in OG series.
Whoever didn’t saw it. You missing out on a good story and rollercoaster emotions (for me) very good. I can’t wait season 2
The whole story was concluded by the end of season 1. Loved it too.

Ok. I think episode 6 is one of the saddest things i have ever experienced. This anime is goated.
I like the duality between his home life and his life in the game, character designs look really nice and the voice actors sound great, definitely giving it a watch

If you somehow didn't catch it from the trailer itself, and you also didn't read the description (like me!) you might not have realized that each of the members of the in-game "found" family ARE the members of the real-life "actual" family.
Somehow I didn't catch it and just assumed it was about a normal found family experience/escapism through online games. Really intriguing premise, though! Definitely gonna check it out. :D

@@Hawk7886 Yea and Ima be honest, the trailer doesnt sell me on it. It looks like a show about a hikikomori hating real life and his family has to deal with him as he starts to get addicted to the online world. If it isnt, please oh please correct me but this is what the trailer is telling me.
@@GikamesShadow no not exactly. yes the protagonist, Ichi, is a shut-in who avoids his real life family to spend time with his online friends. and his family avoids him and each other too! their relationships are in shambles. but the twist is that his online friends are actually his real life family. May is his mom. AAAAA is his brother. Shiro is his dad. and none of them know who the others are, because they don’t talk about real life.

The concept, plot twists and art were phenomenal, fell in love with the anime so fast i didnt expect it to have so much depth ☕️✨️

this anime is top tier and a must watch the plot is good the concept is good the story is good and mostly the twists its so unexpected and very sad and depressing i litterally couldn't hold back my tears i really really recommend this!

I shriek when I saw this in netflix. I love the manga and somehow connected to it a bit. I was always excited for every chapter. Now that Ichi will be "alive", I really feel delighted. I'm just not happy with how they revealed in the trailer that his family is the same "family" he has in game. That was better shown in the manga as part of the character development tbh

Ohhhhhhhhhh I remember this manga, didn't read much but it really spoke to me.
It's a broken family that connect to other people in virtual not knowing the other people the love so much are in fact their family they hate so much. I don't remember much of the story but I remember it made me cry
The Dub is just as good. Watched it in one sitting. Its 3:33 am, but what a amazing show that was

To be honest I'm quite surprised that this is coming from a studio that normally has bad animation in their animes like it's the case of *NAS* . But it looks actually good! The last anime that I remember they had with good animation was *ID:Invaded* 😮

Yeah you can't simplify a production to just its studio. Studios are just the business entity under which a show is made, but the staff and production process can vary, even if there are trends with approach/who works where.

Figured they may be family members irl too. Was thinking only about Shiro and Ichi, Japanese music reference seemed like he has a normal life, but there was a thought of his irl family neglecting him. But it looks like all four of them are in on it, even May! This story promises to be awesome and amazing. Hope it'll deliver on it.

2 chicos que por alguna razón se dieron cuenta que podían abandonar sus cuerpos y ser incorpores.
Un mundo más allá del velo entre la vida y la muerte, dónde residen creaturas extrañas y otros niños como ellos que además decidieron cortar sus lazos con su cuerpo corpóreo y pertenecer a este mundo intermedio y luego la chica que puede verlos y tocarlos.

Super exited for this one. Read through the manga years back and have been a fan of the author since. Read through sekai oni and yajin as well. Maybe if this does well enough well get some more okabe uru series.

just finished the manga, it's great. can't wait for the anime next month. it's only 5 volumes (52 chapters) so maybe we'll get a full adaptation
